While on the way to Emerald City, Glinda couldn’t help but stare at Elphaba. The emerald-skinned young woman couldn’t contain her excitement and Glinda didn’t want Elphaba to hide the happiness she was feeling. She’s so cute. Glinda couldn’t help but think such a thought as Elphaba leaned against her shoulder. “What are you doing, Elphie?” Glinda was glad Elphaba’s eyes were closed as she realized she had almost called Elphie by a pet name.
When Elphaba opened her eyes to see Glinda softly smiling at her, she felt her cheeks grow warmer as she pulled her hat over her face, getting ready to doze off to sleep while next to Glinda.
