Chapter Text
“You want to what .”
“We wanna start a YouTube channel!” Jed repeated.
“Yeah, I know, I heard you the first time,” Larry said. “It’s just… no. No, you cannot start a YouTube channel.”
“Why not?” Jed asked.
“We simply want to share our adventures with the world,” Octavius explained.
“Yeah, Laredo, the internet folks’ll love it!”
Larry shook his head violently. “No. Absolutely not.”
“I think it’s a brilliant idea,” Ahkmenrah declared. “I will showcase my golden riches to the world.”
“That’s bragging, Ahk,” Larry sighed.
“I’m in,” Nick said, sliding in next to Larry on a swivel chair. “I can make soundtracks for background music!”
“I encourage this idea, as well,” Teddy added. “We can educate a wider audience. It will be a beneficial experience for everyone.”
“Yeah, but that’s not the point.”
Attila held up a black top hat and ripped it open. Out tumbled a pelican with a rather petrified expression. Attila beamed. “Magic!”
Larry pinched the bridge of his nose. “Attila, I thought we agreed magic wasn’t your thing.”
Sacagawea placed a hand on Larry’s shoulder. “Have some fun, Larry,” she said.
“No, it’s just–” Larry exhaled in exasperation. “Does nobody see what kind of problems could come from this?!”
The exhibits and Nick looked at each other, and shook their heads.
“ Look ,” Larry explained, trying not to drive himself to certain insanity. “People come here. To this museum. To look at stuff. And they’ll see you guys, too. Don’t you think at least one person out there will notice that our videos are taken in this museum?”
“We can film on a green screen,” Nick suggested. “Or only inside your office.”
“That’s not– You want to take over my office? ” Nick nodded enthusiastically and Larry resisted a facepalm.
“…And Dr. McPhee. What do you think’s gonna happen if he sees?”
“Aw, c’mon, that ol’ man don’t seem like someone to watch the YouTube!” Jed scoffed.
“ThAt’S nOt ThE pOiNtTtTTtttTt,” Larry groaned. “What if someone recognizes me?! I used to own a company, you know! I was on national TV!!!”
“We will make sure to edit a sticker onto your face,” Ahk said.
“Yeah, I think that angry emoji with its mouth censored captures your vibe perfectly,” Nick agreed, snickering.
Larry was at a loss for words.
“What are you even going to post, anyway?” Larry asked. “What, are you gonna become influencers or something?”
Larry quickly yelled “NO!” after seeing that Jed and Oct seemed to be taking this as a genuine suggestion.
“We shall resolve this matter in an orderly fashion,” Teddy stated. “All in favor of creating a YouTube channel, raise your hands.”
Everyone except Larry raised their hands.
Larry closed his eyes, silently counted to ten, and opened his eyes back up.
“Fine,” he spat. “But just to be clear, this has nothing to do with me.” Everyone nodded, and Larry went to make his eighth cup of coffee that night.
