Summary
Jinx isn’t a handmaid because she’s obedient - she was probably the furthest thing from it. She was a handmaid because her body still worked and because they had tracked her family through the lanes as they tried to escape from the Lanes. That’s all it took in Gilead—just one working womb and a long enough record of bad behaviour to land a person in a red dress and under someone else's roof as they were called a whore.
