Ash woke up a failure and slowly sat up. He passed out, again. He failed, again.
But they were so close this time! Was he pushing Greninja too much? Was Greninja just not able to handle their bond properly?
Was he not able to handle their bond properly and that’s why he failed?
Everyone was relieved to see he was all right, of course. It must’ve been a scare to see him pass out like that. He wasn’t very concerned about them at the moment however, he didn’t see Greninja as he glanced around. “Where’s Greninja?”
Right here.
There he is. He looked over and spotted Greninja, and then immediately felt guilty. Or ashamed. Or maybe a bunch of other emotions he didn’t understand and weren’t his in the first place.
“Are you all right?” Concern for his Pokemon friends comes first after all. They’ve done so much for him throughout his life, he has to pay them back somehow.
I’m fine.
“That’s a relief.” It truly is, because he wouldn’t be able to live with himself otherwise.
Are you all right?
Diantha asked him the same question a few seconds later. He decided to address her instead, “Yeah!” But then again if he was truly all right, he’d be able to walk whatever this is off why is he having trouble getting up instead of Clemont helping him.
“Guess I passed out again.”
Guess I failed us again.
Yeah. No you didn’t. It was my fault too. Don’t just blame yourself.
”Today’s battle was the greatest ever! We were really in sync, weren’t we?” He was happy about that at least. That was the longest they’d ever by synchronized before. Maybe if they were a bit better, could’ve lasted longer, they would’ve won the battle.
We were. He nodded, thinking about the transformation that happened back there and the bond they shared and it was theirs and that nobody could take that away. He could sense Ash was doing the same.
”We need to remember how that felt, okay?” Exhilarating unstoppable like he could take on anyone in his path as long as they were like this, as one. It kind of scared him actually he’d never felt like that before.
Greninja nodded. It was amazing if not painful but they can work through the pain they’re together they can feel each other they know what they’re thinking they movie as one. They can handle the pain.
They will master the bond phenomenon, someday. But they’re not quite there yet.
