Choi Seungcheol and Yoon Jeonghan released a joint statement about their missing husband – read it here!
That’s right: two-thirds of one of the most famous relationships in the world have broken their silence about their partner’s disappearance. Some are calling it callous and heartless, even going as far as accusing the duo of harming their spouse.
It is with great concern we confirm the rumors that have been circulating the last few hours. Our husband, Joshua, disappeared either late last night or early this morning, and there are no leads.
As of now, we can’t disclose any information due to the nature of the disappearance and the ongoing investigation, but we will share further information as the situation develops.
Thank you for your patience during this time.
Are Jeonghan and Seungcheol at fault?? Make sure to stay tuned for real-time updates.

Mingyu sighed dramatically as he threw himself onto Wonwoo’s armchair. “I hate my life, and everything is bad.”
“Oh, I’m doing well,” Wonwoo, who hadn’t acknowledged Mingyu when he entered the room, said. “Thanks for asking.” He glanced up from the paperwork on his desk.
Mingyu continued talking as though Wonwoo hadn’t spoken. “My professors are still acting weird about the whole ‘being arrested’ thing.” He exaggerated the air quotes heavily.
“Well,” Wonwoo responded, finally giving Mingyu his full attention, “a felony charge will do that.”
“I didn’t even do anything!” Mingyu insisted, throwing his hands up.
Wonwoo raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. “None of the charges were false. You’re just lucky that Seokmin insisted they not prosecute you.”
Mingyu waved a hand dismissively. “You wouldn’t have let me go to jail,” he said. “Also, Seokmin never would’ve talked to the police if he’d known it was me.”
Wonwoo looked back down at the document he’d been reading to scribble notes in the margins of some assuredly dense and confusing paperwork. “Yeah, I’m still not sure why you didn’t tell him that part before you got arrested .”
Mingyu shrugged, though Wonwoo wasn’t watching. “It didn’t seem important. Plus, it was worth it to watch Chan shit himself because he thought he was getting arrested.”
Wonwoo paused, considering, then snorted. “Yeah.”
“I wonder if it really was a curb,” Mingyu pondered aloud.
“Until proven otherwise, legally, it was.” Wonwoo said shortly.
They sat in a comfortable silence for a little bit, Mingyu playing Subway Surfers and Wonwoo intently poring over his paperwork.
“What are you even working on?” Mingyu asked abruptly, infusing just a bit of a whine into his voice.
“I’m trying to keep Jeonghan and Seungcheol out of jail.”
“Is there anything more about Joshua?”
Wonwoo sighed. “No, and Jeonghan and Cheol released a statement this morning without telling me, and the article that broke the story has somewhere around fifteen million hits. They also both talked to the police without me there.”
“Don’t they have, like, media training?” Mingyu asked. He closed Subway Surfers and opened Twitter. “Uh-oh.”
“What?” Wonwoo asked.

Police report that Choi Seungcheol and Yoon Jeonghan have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of their husband, Joshua Hong.
Wonwoo’s phone rang, and he and Mingyu both stared at it for a beat.
“I can’t believe that Pop Base got there first,” Wonwoo muttered.
“I can!” Mingyu contributed cheerfully. Wonwoo shot him a dirty look before clicking “accept call.”
“Hello?” Wonwoo put his phone on speaker as he calmly packed up his briefcase, putting in all of his paperwork, a single dying pen, and his copy of The Art of the Deal . As he did so, a rat emerged from his desk, and he jumped back.
He turned cold eyes on Mingyu. “The rats have to go .”
Mingyu had found a rat on the street and decided that it needed his sympathy, so he’d brought it up to Wonwoo's apartment. Wonwoo was decidedly unpleased with the development, but he knew when to pick his battles.
Wonwoo may not have fought about the first rat, but the battle he did pick was one regarding the rat’s children, who were born in his living room.
“They need a home!” Mingyu insisted.
Before Wonwoo could respond, a familiar voice came through Wonwoo’s phone. “They got arrested,” Minghao said, tinny through the speaker.
“Mhm,” Wonwoo hummed. “I heard. I’ll meet you at the jail?”
“I guess so.” Minghao hung up without a goodbye.
“You didn’t specify which jail,” Mingyu said.
Wonwoo shrugged, uncaring. “I’ll just make Dino guess.” He pocketed his phone and wallet, and grabbed his briefcase. As he walked past Mingyu on his way out of the study, Wonwoo ran a hand through Mingyu’s hair.
“This looks cute,” he said. “Are you spending the night?”
“Considering you’re taking my driver away, yes.” Mingyu pouted. He got up and trailed behind Wonwoo as he walked to the door, elegantly swerving around the maze of useless furniture Mingyu had brought into his apartment.
“I’m horribly sorry about that,” Wonwoo said, rolling his eyes. “If you want to keep him, I’ll let Dino know to expect his paychecks to come from you in the future.”
Mingyu huffed and leaned forward to press his forehead to Wonwoo’s shoulder. “I guess you can have him. I don’t want him, anyway.” Wonwoo kissed the side of his head then pulled back to press a chaste kiss to his lips.
“I’ll probably be home late,” he said apologetically.
“I hate you,” Mingyu said seriously.
“Yes, I’m sure,” Wonwoo said. “Don’t forget to lock the door behind me.”
“You act like I’m going to get kidnapped.” Mingyu complained. “I’m not exactly high profile.”
Wonwoo gave him a tight smile. “Just do it for my peace of mind.”
“Awe,” Mingyu gushed. “You don’t want me to get kidnapped?”
Wonwoo just smiled fondly. “Bye, Mingyu.” He stepped out and closed the door.
Since he’d gotten his Facebook Marketplace (where you can buy or sell new and used items easily and find great deals on new items) account back, Mingyu had been buying twice as much stuff to make up for the weeks he couldn’t purchase anything. He’d run out of space in his apartment, and Seokmin’s was now off-limits, so that left Wonwoo’s. The two spare bedrooms were already filled, and the furniture had begun to spill into the main living areas.
Wonwoo, ever-patient with Mingyu, had just quietly accepted the mess–for the most part. The one and only time he ever yelled at Mingyu was when he, Seungkwan, and Seokmin had moved all of the furniture around in the middle of the night to make an elaborate system of tunnels, all of which led to a large fort in the middle of the apartment. Later that night, when Seokmin and Seungkwan had left, Wonwoo had left his room without his glasses on and walked straight into a piano Mingyu had recently purchased.
After waking Mingyu up with a screech that sounded like it came from the depths of hell, Wonwoo had busted out his full name, which briefly made Mingyu think that throwing himself out of the window might be a safer option.
Wonwoo had then yelled a variety of not-very-nice things at Mingyu, some of which Mingyu tried to deflect (in response to “neither one of us plays the piano!” he insisted that “it’s just a baby grand!”) and some of which he accepted (“what the fuck possessed you to put it in front of the bathroom ?”)
Other than that, though, the influx of furniture didn’t seem to be an issue.

True to his word, Wonwoo got home late that night. Mingyu made the ramyeon he liked and left it sitting on the baby grand, not bothering to cover it up–if the rats got there first (which they often did), so be it. He showered, bypassing his own shampoo in favor of Wonwoo’s, and got into bed. He pouted into the darkness, irrationally angry about the emptiness next to him.

Mingyu was mostly asleep when Wonwoo finally made his way home. Mingyu felt the mattress shift as Wonwoo sat heavily on the edge of the bed and rubbed his hands over his face, tossing his glasses carelessly to the side.

Mingyu wandered through Wonwoo’s apartment in search of his new rat friends, but paused when he caught sight of Wonwoo’s iPad. Wonwoo’s laptop was gone, but Mingyu knew that it was synced to the iPad. He also knew that Wonwoo kept all of the information about his cases on there. If he could figure this out and get Joshua back, then Wonwoo would chill out and hopefully let him keep the rats. Rescuing Joshua and getting Seungcheol and Jeonghan out of jail would just be a happy side effect.
Mingyu tiptoed (though the apartment was empty other than him and the rats) his way across the room and turned the iPad on.

Criminal Investigation Case #05262015
Witness Report [WRITTEN] [Page 1 of 1]
Witness Interview of: JEONGHAN YOON
Date (mm/dd/yyyy): 10/05/2025
Mr. JEONGHAN YOON is the husband of the victim. He reports that the evening prior to the disappearance (04 Oct 2025), a large group of people were invited to the home that he shares with Mr. SEUNGCHEOL CHOI and Mr. JOSHUA HONG in order to celebrate his birthday. He struggles to recount all of the attendees, stating that it was a “massive fucking banger.” He notes some specific close friends who stayed the night in his home: Mr. SOONYOUNG KWON, Mr. JIHOON LEE, Mr. JUNHUI WEN, and Mr. HANSOL CHWE.
Mr. Yoon reports going to bed sometime around 0400, and waking up at roughly 1400 to discover that Mr. Hong was missing. He says that he did not hear anything while he was asleep, and neither did his friends. He woke up Mr. Choi, Mr. Kwon, Mr. Lee, and Mr. Wen and, when they discovered that Mr. Hong had left behind his phone and wallet, called the police immediately.
Criminal Investigation Case #05262015
Witness Report [WRITTEN] [Page 1 of 1]
Witness Interview of: [REDACTED]
Date (mm/dd/yyyy): 10/05/2025
[REDACTED] attended Mr. JEONGHAN YOON’s party on 04 Oct 2025, and reports odd behavior between Mr. Yoon, Mr. JOSHUA HONG, and Mr. SEUNGCHEOL CHOI. They admit that they don’t know the trio (or their friends) very well, but they recount an incident early in the night where the three men seemed to be fighting.
They assert that Mr. Hong was crying as he was berated by Mr. Yoon and Mr. Choi. They said that they were nervous to intervene. They also claim to have seen Mr. Hong sleeping on the floor without a pillow or blanket while Mr. Yoon and Mr. Choi slept in a bed.
They theorize that Mr. Choi and Mr. Yoon were resentful of Mr. Hong after he interrupted their wedding, and are now “taking revenge.”

But I’m not in a relationship, so I could definitely have sex with Seokmin and Seungkwan if I wanted to. Not that I want to. I wouldn’t want to have sex with men. Only women for me, haha. “We’re going to Jeonghan’s house,” Mingyu said as he slid into the car. When he looked to the front--he'd been pushed to the backseat because of Hansol--he was met with an incredulous look from Chan.
“I am not going to an active crime scene,” Chan stated, putting the car in park and crossing his arms.
Next to him, Hansol shrugged. “Could be fun.”
Chan hedged, looking to Mingyu.
“Please, Chan,” Mingyu said. “It's important.”
Chan pursed his lips, but started the car anyway.
As he was merging, he glanced back at Mingyu. “Why do you even need to go?”
“I’m going to solve the mystery.” Mingyu stated proudly.
Hansol nodded in approval. “Seems reasonable.”
Chan looked like he couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry. Instead of doing either, he just stared at Mingyu until he sideswiped a mail box and ended up on the sidewalk.

At least this time it was definitely a curb
Chan refused to actually go into the house, so he dropped Mingyu off near the front door, with a dismissive “text me when you’re done!”
Mingyu didn’t even have time to nod in assent before Chan was peeling off so fast he left skid marks on the pavement.
<><><><>
The bedroom was, expectedly, unhelpful, but Mingyu pored over it anyway. He didn’t find anything that wasn’t mentioned in the evidence documents, but he felt better after going over it himself. He then wandered down the hall to a closed door he hadn’t noticed in the past.
It was locked when he got there, but it only took him a minute to lean down and check underneath the (indoor) welcome mat and find the key.

Without hesitating, he unlocked the door and stepped in. Jackpot.

Mingyu rewound the video to the evening of October 4th, and then observed the driveway as his friends came and went. He particularly enjoyed watching a very sober Wonwoo fight with a very drunk Chan over the keys to the car.
There was no sign of Joshua in any of the camera angles. Just as he was about to give up, he noticed a blur in the corner of one of the screens.
It was a car, completely average–a dark SUV, with no clear make or model. But one of the back tail lights was out.
He recognized that car. He recognized that car, because it had been posted on Facebook Marketplace, where you can buy or sell new and used items easily and find great deals on new items. Fortunately, the seller was an old Facebook Marketplace friend of his.

Mingyu tumbled into the back seat, barely holding in his laugh at Chan's hair, which was mussed from whatever he and Hansol had been doing while alone. Mingyu considered explaining everything he'd found, but he didn’t want Hansol or Chan to try to steal the credit from him.
So instead, he just said, “take me to Wonwoo?”
Chan groaned. “But I hate driving.”
<><><><>
Mingyu rushed into the lobby of Wonwoo’s office building and beelined straight for the elevators. When the elevator didn’t appear within three seconds of him jamming the ‘up’ button with his thumb, he took off for the stairs. Wonwoo was only on floor ten, or something like that. Light work.
When he finally emerged into the reception area of Wonwoo and Minghao’s suite, he was sweaty and out of breath. He put his hands on his knees and hung his head low, breathing as though he’d just run a marathon.
He stumbled to Wonwoo’s door and slapped on it, open-handed.
“Come in?” came Wonwoo’s voice.
When Mingyu opened the door, leaning on it heavily, Wonwoo’s eyes widened.
“Are you okay?” He asked, standing from his desk. Mingyu tried to assure him that everything was fine, but he was still seeing little black dots, and he was beginning to worry that he might be asthmatic.
Before he could voice any of that, he finally got a good look at the office. Wonwoo looked, for lack of a better word, frazzled. His things, normally neat and organized, were spread across various surfaces in the room. His suit jacket was nowhere to be seen, and his glasses were lopsided in a way that Mingyu knew meant that he had been taking them on and off.
Minghao was sitting in the corner, and he raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow in greeting.
Unfortunately, that eyebrow led to the first words Mingyu spoke since arriving: “how can someone be as attractive as you?” He asked Minghao. “Like, I'm into him more than anyone else,” he nodded to indicate Wonwoo, who didn't look impressed with the compliment, “but, I mean, wow.”
Minghao stood. “Let’s take a break,” he said to Wonwoo. As he walked past Mingyu, he patted him on the back.
“Is everything okay?” Wonwoo asked again, and Mingyu realized that it would probably be less stressful for Wonwoo to not know about his plan until he actually caught the person who took Joshua. If Wonwoo knew what he was going to do, he’d definitely flip his shit.
“Yeah, hyung,” Mingyu smiled weakly. “I’m checking on you.”
Wonwoo didn’t look convinced. “You ran up twelve flights of stairs just to check on me?”
Mingyu nodded slowly.
“We both know you’re lying,” Wonwoo said.
Mingyu nodded again.
“Okay,” Wonwoo conceded, collapsing back into his chair. “You know what, sure. This can be a mystery for later.”
Mingyu blew him a kiss.

Kim Mingyu: Uh sure
Kim Mingyu: You said you bought it recently but are getting rid of it now?
Kim Mingyu: Is something wrong with it

Though he was slightly apprehensive, Mingyu knew he could handle this on his own. It's like that inspirational quote.

I think I can talk him down tho like I’ve got this
Mingyu was standing in the middle of a field, watching the $147 Uber vanish into the distance. The driver insisted they meet out here, even though they both lived in the city, and Mingyu didn’t want to involve Dino in his heroic plan.
He waited patiently, looking out at the sea of dying grass. It was cold and cloudy, but he had full confidence in his plan.
Finally, he heard the sound of tires on gravel. He stood, head tilted, as the car approached. It parked in front of him, and someone got out of the driver’s seat, wearing a hoodie and a face mask.
“Hi!” Mingyu chirped. “I’m Mingyu.”
“Yes,” the man said. “I know who you are.”
Mingyu crinkled his nose. The voice was familiar, but he couldn’t quite identify it.
“You kidnapped my friend, I think!” he said.
“I did,” the stranger confirmed. He pulled down his mask.
Mingyu ran his hands through his hair. “No fucking way!” he laughed incredulously. “I remember you. God. Long time, no see! Anyway, uh, do you mind returning my friend, please?”
The man looked confused. “Did you have any sort of plan at all?”
Mingyu blinked twice, then shrugged. “I thought that asking nicely would do the trick.”
The man paused, then laughed. “I mean, really. How do the two of you stand to be around each other? You’re as dumb and gorgeous as he is boring and smart.” Mingyu was confused.
The man didn’t seem to care. “Okay, then, how about we switch? I always liked you more, anyway.”
Oh dear , Mingyu thought. I hope that Wonwoo doesn’t kill my rats when I’m not there to defend them .

Joshua Hong has reportedly been located, unharmed, in a field outside of New York City. The captor’s identity remains unknown.
Criminal Investigation Case #05262015
Witness Report [WRITTEN]
Witness Interview of: JOSHUA HONG
Date (mm/dd/yyyy): 10/08/2025
Mr. JOSHUA HONG reports being awoken from his sleep by an unknown individual at around five in the morning on 05 October 2025. He says he willingly went outside–even going so far as to help his future captor avoid the security cameras–with the individual, whose identity he is still unaware of. His justification for those actions is that he thought it could be a “fun adventure.” He says that he was taken (again, willingly) to a small, concrete room. He describes it as “nasty.”
He also says that his captor didn’t speak to him, and that he never got a good look at his face.
Further, he has no idea why he was returned safely. He says that he was fed three meals and two snacks a day, and wasn’t physically or emotionally harmed, other than the “psychological damage” of being unable to shampoo his hair.
He added that he heard two voices right before he was freed. Although his eyes and ears were covered, he thinks he heard someone else getting into the car with his captor.
When asked about his romantic relationship, he laughed at the thought of either of his partners hurting him. He confirms that they fought on the night of his disappearance, but states that it was because he bought Svedka vodka instead of an actually good brand, and that there were no lingering hard feelings.
After hearing the testimony of the anonymous witness, he confirms that he was sleeping on the ground in their bedroom. He explains that he, Mr. Yoon, and Mr. Choi sleep on a twin bed that only fits two people, so they take turns sleeping on the ground. When asked why they don’t simply buy a bigger bed, he seems overwhelmed and begins to cry.
He adds that his partners purchased life insurance for him after he recently picked up a new hobby: cave diving.
He was also found with a note in his front pocket.
Criminal Investigation Case #05262015
[PHYSICAL EVIDENCE]
Object description: a note, typed in black in the “Silian Rail” font, reads “dummies!” It’s set against a “bone” colored background.

Good afternoon, detective. This is Jeon Wonwoo, one of the lawyers who was working on the Joshua Hong case. It’s been a pleasure to work with you. I’m– uh– I’m having some concerns about my partner? I think he might have been the individual who was “switched” with Joshua. He’s not answering his phone and none of his friends have been able to get a hold of him. I do think I know the Facebook Marketplace account of the person who took him. Please call me back as soon as possible. Thanks.

Wonwoo was sitting with his head in his hands in the police station, waiting for them to bring out the note that Joshua had received. Although Wonwoo couldn’t believe Mingyu’s stupidity, he found himself quite impressed by his investigative work. After all, he did accomplish what he set out to do, which was get Joshua back.
Wonwoo was worried about Mingyu, though, and he thought the rats were, too. They seemed to be uneasy.
He clicked on the link that Minghao sent and skimmed the first few lines, but he got caught on the author’s name.
It was familiar, but he wasn’t quite able to connect the final dots until they showed him Joshua’s note.

vehicular assault: he’s so pissy when you’re gone
At home, Wonwoo tore through the drawers in his study while Chan watched from the doorway.
“Mingyu’s going to hate this mess,” Chan commented casually. Wonwoo didn’t pause.
Finally, with a cry of victory, he emerged from the depths of his desk with what looked to be a business card.
Curiosity piqued, Chan stepped forward. It was a business card.
“Silian Rail,” Wonwoo said, almost reverently. “Set against bone.”
The note that Joshua was left with was nearly identical in appearance to the business card that Mingyu had been given by the Sid from Ice Age looking-ass E! News reporter at the wedding. The very same reporter who had leaned way too far over the table, offered Mingyu a drink that was, in retrospect, probably spiked, and called Wonwoo boring.
(He’d also called Mingyu gorgeous, which he was, but Wonwoo hadn’t like the way he’d said it.)
Upon further research (read: frantic Googling), Wonwoo and Chan discovered that the man had been the first person to publish any sort of update regarding Joshua’s case. He was also the only one to report that Mingyu, specifically, had been abducted. He’d bought the car, left some hate in Soonyoung’s Twitter replies for shits and giggles and, in theory, currently had Mingyu stored in a basement somewhere.
<><><><>
Wonwoo loitered outside of a small, suburban house, pacing back and forth behind a row of police cars. He wasn’t allowed to go any closer than he already was, so he was left waiting in the cold for the officers to–hopefully–emerge with Mingyu.
When the door opened, he held his breath, then narrowed his eyes in disgust when he was met with the reporter. He cut through the crowd and waited at the patrol car. Wonwoo knew that he could be scary when he tried, and often when he wasn’t trying. So, when he evenly met the gaze of the man who had kidnapped his friend–and boyfriend–he made sure to infuse his glare with every ounce of hatred and disdain he could.
When the man was close enough Wonwoo spoke. “Why did you take them?”
The man huffed, irritated. “Why does it matter?”
Wonwoo didn’t dignify that with a response, and the man sighed.
“I took the first one because I thought that getting to write about a story as big as that would help my career.”
“And Mingyu?” Wonwoo prompted.
The man smirked. “You were both such dicks at the wedding. I just wanted to piss you off.” He stuck his tongue out at Wonwoo before the officer herded him into the car. Childishly, Wonwoo tripped him.
He moved back towards the door of the house, but continued glaring at the reporter. As he waited for Mingyu, he found himself remembering the way that Mingyu had leaned against him at the wedding without even glancing back, the way he’d just taken for granted that Wonwoo would be there. And Wonwoo was.
<><><><>
Mingyu was sitting against a cold, concrete wall, attempting to play chess against himself in his head (it wasn’t going very well. There was a lot to keep straight, and the knights kept riding their horses around in shapes that were absolutely not 'L's) when he heard the stomp of heavy duty boots clomping around on the floor above him.
He stretched out his sore muscles as best he could with the ropes binding him, and put on his most winning smile when the police officers spilled into the basement.
“Good afternoon!”
<><><><>
As he stepped out of the house, he instinctively looked for Wonwoo in the small crowd of people who’d amassed to watch the arrest. It turns out that when you get posted on Pop Base, people grow pretty interested in your life.
Given that Wonwoo was taller than most people, it wasn’t difficult to pick him out.
He was standing, back straight and arms crossed, and had the single most terrifying look that Mingyu had ever seen on his face. It was directed at a police car, which Mingyu inferred was holding Weasel Man. (That nickname was the result of hours of careful workshopping in the basement.)
“Hyung!” Mingyu called cheerfully. Wonwoo’s head snapped to him so quickly that Mingyu was worried for his neck.
Wonwoo’s gaze swept down the length of his body, coolly assessing him. When he finished whatever visual check of Mingyu’s general health he’d been performing, the look on his face was nothing less than pure relief. He moved smoothly through the bustle of police officers and didn’t hesitate to pull Mingyu close, tucking Mingyu’s head into the crook of his neck.
“You are so stupid,” Wonwoo said, and Mingyu pouted into his fancy woolen coat. “I mean, what the fuck were you thinking?”
“I caught him before the police,” Mingyu whined.
“You didn’t catch him,” Wonwoo corrected. “You got caught.”
Mingyu didn’t respond, just pressed himself closer and gripped Wonwoo’s lapels tighter.
“Mingyu,” Wonwoo said desperately, and Mingyu braced himself for something disgustingly emotional.
“Yes?”
“I need you to handle the rats.” Wonwoo’s voice broke. “I mean, they’re… they’re everywhere. I’m worried that the babies have imprinted on me, and they’re eating all of my food, and I–just, please. Please.”
Mingyu sighed heavily. “What about a cage?”
“Okay. Yes. I’ll take it. They can live in a cage.”
“Also, I bought a harpsichord. On your credit card.”
"I love you," Wonwoo said abruptly, his arms tightening around Mingyu.
"Okay," Mingyu took a second to process. "I love you. I'm not sure why that was prompted by me spending thousands of your dollars on an instrument neither of us can play, though."
"I'm just glad to have you," Wonwoo said. "Let's go home?"
