Summary
“Prior to departing the Zapolyarny Palace for your trip, have you made plans to visit Liyue?”
“I had to leave it,” Childe might say if he wanted to be honest—but honesty is not something he can afford… and not something he would offer someone he barely knows. He is open-minded and charming, people say, easygoing and entertaining. But he is a general and a duke, Her Majesty’s weapon and favourite Harbinger. “I had to leave it,” thus, he tells nobody but himself, “I had to leave it because my ambitions, and my hunger for power, and my arrogance brought destruction upon my country.”
After a series of unfortunate events, Childe—Tartaglia, Duke of Morepesok and a general of Snezhnaya—ends up in Liyue Harbour, met with all the proper courtesies. Welcomed by Rex Lapis, however, might be an overstatement. Despite his stay in the esteemed Yujing City, not once does he catch sight of the Emperor.
But Childe has a plan of his own to seek out the Emperor of Liyue—and the Ministry of Rite’s enigmatic consultant, Mr Zhongli, is his key to doing just that.
