Work Text:
I be makin' this here sad song hopin’ one fine day y’all'll see me. I pray tell ye know how much I cherished ye! Y’all had the kindliest hearts of all I ever met. Always standin’ by me when I had been in a terrible bind. Y’all put yer lives on the line knowin’ ye’d get kicked out, just so I’d have a cozy spot to lay my head. Ain’t that the grandest kindness ever!
Mighty kind of ye! I do hope and pray that yer not a'forgettin' me. Love's all there is, ain't it? I reckon ye've heard my woeful tale, and I ask ye to say a prayer for my lonely soul, that I might find peace. The cold winters here is the worst, I tell ya, do ye recall 'em?
My skin's turned all blue-like from the winter chill. Always peerin' in from the outside, yearnin' for yer warm embrace. Caught forever 'twixt livin' and passin' on. When the night falls real dark, folks spot me and oft get a fright.
I’ll be holdin’ on to ya always, reckon I dread bein’ alone more than givin’ up to the chill. You were the sweetest folk ’round! Until we meet agin!
Love forevermore,
The Blue Boy
