Work Text:

Akito drums his fingers on the table as he waits for An to finish detailing the tasks for their next performance. Toya asked him to go shopping together after this, and he’s looking forward to it. He likes picking out outfits for Toya, but if it were up to him, all of Toya's outfits would be composed from Akito's clothes. Unfortunately, Toya needs his own clothes, so getting to help him choose is the next best thing.

Not that Toya really needs any help with picking outfits. In Akito's opinion, he could show up to Vivid Street in a trash bag and still be the prettiest person to ever step foot there. Akito wouldn't ever let Toya wear something like that, but the point stands. Toya is the most beautiful person in the world, and that's a fact.

Akito wonders which boutiques to take Toya to. Summer is swiftly giving way to autumn, which means Akito can't convince Toya to show off his long, slim legs by wearing shorts. Maybe he can find a nice pair of ripped jeans for Toya instead, one that clings to his legs and makes him seem even taller.

“The meeting ended. Let's go, Akito.” Toya pokes him, amused.

“Sorry. Yes, let's.” Akito picks up his backpack from under the table and slings it over his shoulder. He can feel his cheeks heat up a little at the thought that he spaced out so hard while thinking about Toya. It's hard not to think about him, though.

Toya links their fingers together as they walk out of Weekend Garage. Akito smiles at the gesture, and starts leading Toya towards one of the stores he has in mind. They should have some good items for Toya to try on.

Toya pauses a few minutes into their walk, making Akito stumble a little.

“I didn't know there was an arcade here,” Toya comments, looking at the neon sign saying electric gemusen

“You want to go in and see what plushies they have, right,” Akito sighs. The shopping trip will take longer than he expected. This arcade was not here the last time he was on this street.

“Yes! Is it okay if we take a look around?” Toya asks, excited like a little kid. Akito could never deny him, even if he wanted to.

“Yes, let's go.”

Toya drags him to the arcade, and Akito can see the slightest change in his step, a small spring that makes him even cuter than he normally is. His eyes shine brightly as he enters the arcade, and Akito falls in love with him even more, if such a thing is even possible.

Toya gasps and leads Akito to a giant Pochacco plush, locked inside its own machine. Toya starts digging in his bag for coins, until he finally fishes some out.

“You know we'll have to carry it with us, right? Neither of us live close enough to drop it off and return here,” Akito notes, even though he knows it's a lost cause. They will have to carry this Pochacco plush with them everywhere, because Toya already fell in love with it, and telling him he can't have it would be like kicking a puppy. Akito may be harsh at times, but he's not a heartless monster.

“I'll carry him,” Toya happily volunteers. He carefully inspects the machine, looking at the chord and the cutter from a few different angles, before returning to the front. “It shouldn't take too many tries,” He declares.

Akito watches as Toya inserts a coin and gets to work. His eyes are focused as he lines up the cutter with the string, leaning away from his position a few times before he presses to cut. The plushie doesn't fall, but he does thin the rope just a bit. Toya inserts another coin, and tries again.

This repeats a few more times, until finally, the plushie falls. An employee arrives to open the machine for them so they can take the plushie, and Toya hugs it to his chest with a smile.

“He's so soft!” Toya marvels, almost glowing with joy. Akito smiles at the sight, despite the fact that the plushie is going to be inconvenient for what they plan to do.

“D'ya wanna check out the rest of the arcade or should we go shoppin’?” Akito asks, out of formality more than anything. He knows Toya will want to check out the rest of the arcade, and he knows he's going to win a few more prizes.

“Let's see what else is in here.” Toya's answer is just as Akito predicted.

“Just…” Akito hesitates, trying to figure out how to say what he wants, “Remember we are goin’ somewhere after this, ‘kay? Don't get too carried away, we can always come back here later.”

“Of course,” Toya nods.

About an hour later, they finally leave the arcade with most of the prizes safe in Akito's backpack. A few small plushies for Kohane, An and Ena and a medium sized Bad Badtz-Maru Toya told him to keep sit inside. The giant Pochacco, of course, doesn't fit. That one Toya is carrying in his arms, so proud of it as if it was his baby. The sight would be adorable, but said plushie is occupying both of Toya's hands, leaving no hand for Akito to hold. He resorts to holding Toya's arm instead, but it's not the same, so he curses the dog in his mind for taking his boyfriend from him.

They finally arrive in front of the boutique Akito wanted to check out. Akito scans the displayed outfits, quickly dismissing them before heading inside. He looks around and spots a few items he wants Toya to try on, so he leads Toya to the first one.

“What d'ya think?” He asks as he pulls out the button-up he spotted in Toya's size. Half of it is black with a regular length cut, the other has a thin grid check in deep blue on white, and the material should reach about mid-thigh on Toya. The trendy half-and-half split on a more elegant piece of clothing should suit Toya well.

“I like it. I also wanted to ask, do you know what we should wear for our next performance?” Toya awkwardly takes the shirt from him. With the way Toya is holding Pochacco, it looks like he’s trying to see if it would fit the plushie.

“Yeah. I think something high contrast would work, but we shouldn't go overboard. Black with a color accent will look good and cohesive.” One of his usual tasks is to put together outfits for their performances, and their next set list is full of energetic, snappy songs. In his opinion, bringing that snap into their outfits with a vibrant color on a black background should work nicely.

“I see. If I spot something that fits the description, I'll let you know.” Toya turns to one of the racks, and starts awkwardly looking through it.

Akito leaves Toya to grab the remaining clothes that caught his eye. He takes a pair of dark jeans, just like the ones he thought of earlier, a pair of black cargo pants with blue belts, a purple and white hoodie, and a cropped black jacket with orange trim and seams for himself. He returns to Toya, who's holding up a black turtleneck with a few blue patches.

“What do you think?” Toya asks, clearly happy with himself for finding it.

Akito isn't sure what to think.

On one hand, he is the one who advised Toya to wear turtlenecks. He still thinks Toya looks amazing in them, and it is a fact that they suit him well. On the other hand, whenever Toya wears a turtleneck, which is often, his neck is covered. That means Akito can't count and recount the moles dotting his neck, and he can't drop a kiss onto the skin if he feels like it.

“Another one?” Akito chooses to say, unsure how to persuade Toya out of the purchase for his own selfish reasons.

“It fits the theme, and since autumn is coming, I could wear it outside performances.” Toya is looking at him with curiosity, sharp grey eyes piercing through him.

“That’s true,” Akito admits defeat.

“Do you not like it?” Toya asks, slightly confused.

“I like it. Sorry for bein’ weird.” Akito turns his head away. Toya is totally going to grill him about this later.

“Alright,” Toya doesn't sound too convinced, and Akito winces a little.

“Anythin’ else caught your eye?” He asks instead, hoping this is enough of a diversion.

“Not really, no. Should I go try these on?” Toya gestures to all the clothes Akito is holding.

“Yeah. I'll hold the plushie for you while you do.” Akito hands Toya the hangers with the clothes for him, and takes the plushie instead.

Toya heads into one of the changing rooms, and Akito patiently waits outside. He feels a little stupid with a plushie half the size of himself, but he tells himself that it's fine. Now that he’s holding it, he has to admit that the stupid dog is actually very soft and nice to hold. He considers himself even nicer to hold, but he has to give Pochacco a point for being so well made.

Toya pulls open the curtain, looking out curiously at Akito. He's wearing the turtleneck and cargo pants, and after a moment he does a spin to show himself.

“It's good, but I think it needs somethin’ extra at the top. That black shirt we bought last time should fit nicely.” Akito says after taking a good look at Toya.

“Thank you. I'll try the other pieces now.” Toya disappears again, leaving Akito alone with the plushie.

Akito deliberately ignores the plushie, instead running through the clothes he's seen An and Kohane wear. An has a nice cropped sweater with holes over the shoulders, which suits Akito's outfit idea, and he thinks he's seen her wear a pair of black pants with one of the pant legs colored halfway teal. Both of those should go together nicely. For Kohane, he has a sweater in mind, but he hasn't seen her wear anything that would go with it. He makes a mental note to look for something that would pair nicely with the sweater. The jacket he picked earlier is for the performance, and he should have a pair of pants to match.

He's about to start thinking of potential accessory options, but Toya opens the curtain back up. He's wearing the half-and-half shirt and jeans, and Akito’s earlier thoughts are proven right. Toya's legs look wonderful in the tight denim, and the rips offer a glimpse of milky skin Akito knows to be soft. There's a mole or two visible through the holes, lone stars in the sky. He should've found a pair with bigger holes, to expose more of the constellations adorning Toya's skin.

Akito coughs a little to shake himself out of his thoughts.

“I like it,” He says in what he hopes is a nonchalant tone.

“I can tell.” Toya gives him an amused smile, and Akito blushes. He wonders, sometimes, how does one person have such an effect on him.

Thankfully, Toya disappears back into the changing room instead of continuing to tease him. Akito is tempted to hide his face in the plushie, but getting caught doing that would only make things worse. Even if he is a little tempted to bury his face in the soft material.

Toya walks out wearing the hoodie, an uncertain expression on his face.

“D'ya not like it?” Akito asks.

Toya guiltily looks to the side. “I prefer to wear hoodies that are yours.”

Akito bites his tongue to prevent himself from saying something stupid, like “Please only wear my hoodies” or “I love seeing you in my clothes”. Once he feels like his excitement is contained, he replies to Toya.

“Should I get it instead, then?”

“Please,” Toya nods. “Do you want to try your items on?”

Akito already knows the hoodie will fit him, and the jacket should too, but he nods to humour Toya. Toya disappears inside the changing room, then soon comes out with his clothes. Akito passes the plushie to him, shaking his head as Toya hands him the hoodie.

“If it fits you, it'll fit me.” Akito steps into the changing room and closes the curtain behind himself. He drops his backpack and shrugs off his hoodie. Then, he takes the jacket off the hanger and puts it on. He looks at himself in the mirror, twisting around to get a few different angles. The jacket ends about where his ribs do, and the stiff material hangs off his frame in a way that creates a nice width difference between his chest and abdomen. The pants he has in mind for this are a little loose, so his silhouette shouldn't look imbalanced.

Now that the jacket passed the test, he opens the curtain to Toya. Toya looks him up and down, then makes a weird move with his hands.

“I wanted to hold your waist,” He admits, “I like how the jacket makes it look.” His hands fall back onto the plushie, and Akito regrets ever stopping at that arcade.

Despite his annoyance, he blushes a little at Toya's words. “Thanks,” He murmurs out, then heads back in to change.

He quickly takes the jacket off and puts his hoodie back on. He slings his backpack on his shoulder, then hangs the jacket back on the hanger and heads out.

“Noticed anythin’ else?” He asks, reaching for “his” hoodie.

“No. We can head to the register now.” Toya doesn't hand it back, instead heading over to pay.

“Oi, I can pay for the hoodie myself,” Akito grabs the strap of Toya's bag to stop him.

“I'm going to wear it too, no?” Toya turns back with a small smile, and Akito accepts his defeat.

“Fine. I’ll buy you a coffee the next time we're at a cafe or somethin’,” Akito offers instead, as it's the only thing Toya will allow him to do to repay him.

Toya hums in approval and puts the items down on the counter. The check out goes fast, and soon enough they're leaving the store.

“Do you have any other places in mind?” Toya asks, arms wrapped tight around the stupid plushie. Akito, as before, can only hold on to Toya's arm, which is a measly compensation for being a pack mule.

“One more.” Akito leads him to one of the other stores he has in mind. He'd love to check out more, but the unplanned arcade trip ruined his plans a little.

At least Toya looks happy. He's holding on tightly to Pochacco, and Akito can't decide how to feel about this. Toya looks very cute with the plushie, but on the other hand Akito would vastly prefer to be in its place. He would like to think that he's above being jealous over a plushie, but Pochacco is currently living his dream.

He does his best to ignore the stupid dog plush and instead takes a right, pulling Toya with him. The boutique he wants to check out is near the end of this alleyway, and after a few more steps they're walking in. Toya stays behind Akito as he surveys the racks, and Akito can feel Toya's fingers just barely grazing his back. He can also feel the stupid plushie, but he deliberately ignores it.

Nothing catches his eye, and he's about to tell Toya they're leaving the store when he notices a half skirt, with the shorts colored black and the skirt material being pink. He walks over to the rack where they're hanging, and checks each one until he finds Kohane's size. It'll go nice with the sweater he has in mind.

“‘m getting it for Kohane,” He tells Toya as he walks towards the counter with the skirt.

Toya hums, “I thought you were getting it for yourself.”

“Toya.” Akito tries to shake off the blush creeping up his cheeks. He never even considered wearing a skirt as an option. Would Toya like to see him in a skirt? Was his comment even serious? Toya's not the type to make jokes, so is this something he genuinely wants Akito to do?

Thankfully, Toya doesn't comment any further. Akito has to check out and he's not sure he would make it through this social interaction if Toya continued the subject. He pays for the skirt, thanks the cashier and hurries out of the store.

“You have nice, muscular legs. Why not show them off?” Toya says as soon as they're outside. Akito pulls his hood on to hide his face.

“I wear shorts,” He mumbles out. He considers pulling on the strings to tighten the hood, but he needs to see where he's going.

“It's not the same,” Toya simply replies.

Akito still doesn't know if Toya's being serious or just teasing, so he changes the subject instead.

“D'ya know what you wanna do once we get to mine?”

“You could show me the outfit you have in mind for the performance. You haven't bought anything but the jacket, so I assume you have everything else at home.” He can feel Toya look at him, and he tugs the hoodie back down. This is apparently what Toya wanted, as he receives a pleased smile in return.

“Sure.” Akito jolts a little as Toya's fingers brush against his own. He looks to the side to see Toya carrying the plushie under his arm instead. Akito links their fingers together, triumphantly flipping off Pochacco in his mind. He's the one winning now.

They slowly make their way to Akito's house. It would be faster to take the train, but Akito wants to enjoy whatever is left of the good weather for this year. Toya seems to share his opinion as he looks around the city, covered in sunlight. The warm rays caress his face gently, and he looks ethereal, an angel with a halo of golden light. His soft expression matches the angelic aura, and Akito does his best to immortalize the image in his mind.

He suddenly gets pulled back by the hand, and belatedly realizes that they've arrived on a pedestrian crossing, and that the light is red. He feels Toya's amused gaze on him, and turns his head to look at him in warning.

“Don't,” He threatens, knowing it won't work.

“I wasn't going to say anything,” Toya tries and fails to contain his amusement, laughter coloring his tone. Akito can tell he wants to say something more on the topic, but thankfully Toya bites his lip instead and shakes his head.

Akito pulls on Toya's hand as the light turns green, and hurries his step so they can get to the privacy of Akito's bedroom sooner. He can't take any more public embarrassment, so limiting the people who can see him blush from just a few words is the best idea he has. Even if the person he's pulling along with him is the source of all that embarrassment.

Toya doesn't complain as Akito rushes them both, almost in a jog. Quite the opposite, he jumps over a cracked pavement tile with a laugh, eyes crinkled with the force of his smile. A flurry of emotions fills Akito's heart, all of them boiling down to I love him so much it almost hurts. He keeps pace with Toya, who continues to skip over lines and cracks, childlike wonder painted across his sunlit face. Akito briefly wonders if he ever got to do this as a child, but he shakes his head to chase the gloomy thoughts out of his mind. What matters is that he's doing it now, clearly enjoying himself. Toya's joy is infectious, and Akito can't stop a grin from appearing on his face.

With this pace, they make it to Akito's house at record speed. Akito puts down the bag and takes his backpack off to dig for his keys. Next to him, he hears Toya panting a little.

“Had fun?” He asks as he triumphantly fishes out the keys and opens the door. He lets Toya in first, then picks the bag back up and walks in behind him, quickly closing the door once they're both in.

“Yes,” Toya gasps out, leaning against the wall as he takes off his shoes.

“Good. ‘m glad.” Akito quickly takes off his own shoes. “I'm home!” He calls out, but only silence answers him.

“Ena's probably asleep. We can't be too noisy or she'll tear my head off.” Akito warns.

He looks over to Toya, who's struggling a little with his shoes. He’s still holding the damned dog under his arm and doesn't seem to want to put it down for even a moment, so he's standing on one leg, the other up in the air as he awkwardly unties the lacing with one hand. The tip of his tongue is peeking out, and his brow is furrowed in focus. He looks adorable, but Akito also worries he's going to topple over.

“Should I help?” He offers, and Toya's leg instantly lands back on the floor.

“Please. I accidentally made it worse.” Toya gives him a grateful smile and straightens up a little, no longer needing to press his back to the wall like his life depends on it.

Akito kneels down to tackle the shoe Toya was struggling with. In his attempts at untying it Toya only made the knot worse. Akito pulls at the laces, careful to not worsen the situation even more, and after some pulling the shoe is untied. He holds it down so Toya can step out of it, then unties the other one and holds it down too.

Once he straightens up, Toya unexpectedly pulls him into a kiss. Akito jolts a little before he kisses back, pleased to finally have some more direct affection from his boyfriend. Toya breaks away far too soon for Akito's liking, leaving him chasing after his lips.

“Thank you,” Toya smiles, lacing their hands together. Akito doesn't miss the amusement twinkling in his eyes. “But we should get to your room before we continue.”

“Right.” Akito quickly locks the door, then heads with Toya to his room.

Toya instantly goes to the bed, where he places Pochacco on Akito's pillow, next to the small fox that was the first plushie Toya gave him. Akito hates how cute he finds this. The stupid dog plush is not cute, and it does not look cute next to the fox. It doesn't.

Akito drops the bag and his backpack next to his closet doors. He digs out his jacket from the bag, then opens his closet to find the pants he has in mind, black with orange pockets. Once he grabs them, he takes the first black shirt his hands fall onto and turns back to Toya.

“You should put your outfit on too,” He suggests. Seeing how they look together will be a helpful insight into what they need to change.

“Of course.” Toya walks over to him to find his own items, and Akito looks through his closet once more.

“Here,” He hands Toya a gray shirt with white grid check, “'s not the same as yours, but it'll work for now.”

Toya accepts the shirt with a smile, then starts to undress. Akito quickly tugs off his own clothes, careful to not catch them on his left ear. His helix is almost healed, and hasn't had any worrying signs for at least a month, and Akito already almost forgot he even had it once or twice. If he aggravates it now he's going to hate himself for it later. He pulls on the pants and shirt, then finally puts on the jacket. He looks at himself in the mirror, twisting a little to see better. He looks good, but he'd look even better with the finalized outfit. He crouches down to find the pair of boots with orange laces he knows he shoved into his closet, and after a moment his fingers grab onto the leather. He takes them out and puts them on, then gets up to find some accessories.

He spares a glance at Toya, who has just finished changing. He also checks himself in the mirror, before looking at Akito.

“How do I look?” He asks, spreading his arms out a little.

Akito hums, then takes the shirt Toya's wearing and tugs it off his shoulders to make it hang a bit more.

“Now it’s perfect,” Akito declares. With his hands still fisted in the shirt, he uses the opportunity to pull Toya into a kiss. Toya sighs into his lips, happily reciprocating the affection. Akito keeps him close, lips slotted together, until he has to break away to gasp for air.

“I was already convinced I look good when you said so.” Toya sounds amused as he fixes the shirt.

“I wanted to make sure,” Akito’s main goal was to kiss Toya, but he doesn't need to know that.

Toya looks him up and down, eyes pausing on the boots.

“You're taller than me now,” He observes. Akito hasn't realized, but he has a centimeter, maybe two on Toya with these on. He really likes it, even if the difference between them is small.

“I am,” Akito tries to keep his tone neutral, to not show how much he likes having that extra height on Toya.

“Should I find platforms too?” Toya looks at him innocently. Akito's been busted.

“Toya,” He whines and turns away to look for accessories.

Behind him, Toya chuckles. As Akito looks through his drawers, Toya's arms slide around his waist, his chin hitting Akito's shoulder. Akito pulls out the belt he was looking for, then walks over to his jewellery stand. Toya stays glued to his back, his fingers running up and down Akito's abdomen. The movements tickle a little, making him tense. Toya responds by pushing his fingers into Akito's belly, and he turns his head to look at Toya. He receives a small “chu” on his neck instead of a response.

Akito smiles at the gesture and goes back to picking out jewellery. He finds a pair of black studs for himself, and a silver chain for his second lobe, to match the steel of his helix. He picks a short, silver necklace and dangles it in front of Toya's face.

“For you. Wear it with your usual necklace, it should look good. Jus’ check if it clinks.” The thin chain remains dangling from Akito's hand, as Toya makes no move to take it.

“Put it on for me?” Toya asks instead, peeling himself away. Akito misses the touch as soon as it is gone.

Once Toya appears in front of him, Akito closes the necklace around his neck. Toya quickly comes back to his previous position, and Akito chooses to change out his piercings first. Next to his ear, Toya huffs as Akito struggles to slide the earring into the hole, until he finally gets it. He should be doing this in front of a mirror, but going to a mirror would require moving back to his closet, which wouldn't be the easiest task with a clingy Toya on his back. Instead, he waits until Toya switches shoulders to change earrings in his other ear. This one is worse than his right one, having two holes instead of one. Akito belatedly realizes he should've switched them out one by one, but at this point it's too late. At least Toya seems like he's having fun, even if he shouldn't laugh since he only wears clip-ons.

Akito successfully closes the last earring, then moves to peel Toya's hands away from his waist. At first, Toya resists, but once he understands that he just needs to move them off Akito's waist, he's more than happy to slide them under the jacket and up Akito's chest. Akito quickly pulls the belt through the loops and closes it. As soon as he does, Toya's hands slide back down to their previous spot, and Akito covers them with his.

“We should see how we look in the mirror,” Akito says. Toya only hums against his ear.

“Toya,” He tries again. Toya's hands squeeze his waist tighter.

“If you wanna cuddle, we can do it later?” His offer is successful in convincing Toya to let go.

Toya unglues himself from his back, and Akito takes his hand into one of his. They walk back to the mirror, and Akito can finally cast a critical eye over their outfits.

The shirt for Toya is the right call, he just needs to color match it to the rest of his outfit. All of Toya's clip-ons are at his place, but he trusts that Toya will pick something nice. Overall, he looks stunning, which Akito considers an unbiased opinion. His own outfit looks just as good as he expected, and the two of them together fit well, despite contrasting accents.

“We look great,” He announces to Toya.

Toya doesn't reply, his piercing grey eyes focused on Akito. Akito looks at him, waiting for him to say what's on his mind.

“Can I pick an outfit for you?” He asks, turning to him.

“Ah? Uh, ‘course,” Akito agrees, even though this request takes him by surprise, “I'll change,” He moves away to his bed and undresses, folding the clothes as he goes and putting them there. He's not sure if Toya wants to reuse any of these items, so he thinks it's best to put them aside.

After a moment, Toya walks up to him with a bundle of clothes. Akito recognizes one of the pieces as his pair of baggy jeans, the material spilling over Toya's forearms, showing the worn, frayed edges. He starts with those, and then unfolds one of the other pieces Toya brought him. It's an oversized tee, one of Toya's favourites, and Akito can guess Toya's ploy is to borrow it once the scent of laundry mixes with his own. He pulls the shirt on with a small smile, then grabs the last thing Toya selected, which turns out to be a loose zip up hoodie. Once he's fully dressed, he spreads his arms out and looks at Toya.

“How do I look?” He does a slow spin for Toya to see better. “Also, should I pick somethin’ out for you?”

Toya's eyes light up at the question. “Please,” He smiles, “And you look great.” Toya pulls him into a brief kiss, and after that, Akito gets to work.

He wants Toya to match with him a little, so he starts by taking out a pair of baggy pants with drawstrings. He then digs out a sweater with rips at the bottom, and finally, pulls out a beanie. He turns around to see Toya waiting for him in his underwear, and he pauses to take in the beauty of Toya's body. His features are long, slim expanses of pale moonlight skin, dotted with constellations of dark stars. Akito knows the location of each and every single one of them, a path he's followed countless times with his eyes, fingers and lips.

Toya walks over and takes the clothes with a chuckle. Akito gets spared from a teasing comment, but he still blushes and looks away. He looks back to see Toya tug on the beanie, and he leans his elbow on Toya’s arm as they both look in the mirror.

“We match,” Toya notes with a smile.

“We do.” Akito pulls Toya closer to press a kiss under his jaw. “D'ya wanna do this again?”

“Yes,” Toya eagerly agrees. He takes Akito's elbow off his arm and starts to look in the closet. In the meantime, Akito undresses, dropping his clothes next to his previous outfit.

Toya arrives with some clothes shortly after, but before he can pass the pile to Akito, he takes something off the top of it and unfolds it. It's a loose tee, one of the ones Akito uses for pajamas, and he watches as Toya tugs it onto the plushie. He rolls his eyes a little.

“Why are you dressin’ it up?” He asks, without any jealousy in his tone. There is not a hint of jealousy in his voice, because he's not jealous. He’s not.

“We can't exclude him,” Toya hums, amusement lifting the corners of his mouth.

“It's a simple plushie.” Toya still hasn't given him the clothes, and Akito still isn't jealous.

“It's Pochacco,” Toya says as if it explained everything, then finally hands over the outfit. Something glimmers in between his fingers, but he ignores it in favour of putting on the clothes.

He looks at Toya, wearing the selected cargo pants with belts, a simple tee and a big leather jacket. Toya frowns a little, then reaches out and grabs the hem of his shirt. He tucks it inside over itself, then reveals the bobby pins he's been holding, using them to pin the shirt up. After he's done, he tugs the waistband of the pants lower, until Akito's belly is well visible. Akito fights the urge to cover back up, not used to exposing so much skin in this area. Those thoughts are swiftly chased away from his mind as Toya pulls him into a kiss. Akito focuses on matching Toya's enthusiasm instead, arms wrapping around Toya's back. Toya eagerly licks into his mouth, and Akito welcomes the faint taste of coffee Toya's tongue carries. They stay like this for a few more moments, before Akito regrettably pulls away.

“I haven't picked somethin’ for ya yet,” Akito hums.

“Ah. Sorry.” To Akito's delight, Toya’s ears turn the prettiest shade of pink under the beanie. He takes it off Toya's head to kiss the tip of one of his ears, before going to choose another outfit for him.

He starts by picking out one of his looser tank tops, then digs around until he finds the shirt he has in mind, with sea green buffalo check. Lastly, he takes out a pair of straight leg jeans and a belt for them, and after a moment of consideration he takes the beanie again. He hands it all to Toya with a grin, then waits for him to dress up.

Once Toya's done, they stand in front of the mirror together. Akito stares at himself, wondering if he should listen to Toya's silent pleas and buy a few proper crop tops. The hand Toya puts on his waist, rubbing small circles into the skin with his thumb is certainly swaying his opinion.

He looks over to Toya instead. The tank top shows off his sharp collarbones and a healthy amount of moles, trailing from his neck until they disappear under the loose material. Toya meets his gaze in the mirror, eyes sparkling with curiosity.

“I've noticed a lack of turtlenecks in your picks,” He hums. Of course, he's not going to let Akito get away with what happened in the store.

“If you cover your neck, then I can't do this,” Akito steps in front of Toya to press a kiss to one of the moles located on his neck, right under his jawline, “Or this,” He murmurs against the skin, tracing his lips down to another mole, above his Adam's apple, where he leaves another kiss, “Or this,” He traces his lips along Toya's skin again, until he reaches his next destination, near the base of Toya's neck, “Or this,” He moves again, to the side of Toya's neck, where he latches onto the skin next to one of Toya's moles, leaving a mark there.

“Now I'm going to have to cover up.” Toya's soft, breathless laughter reaches Akito’s ears.

“Now you have a reason to cover up,” Akito straightens up to peck Toya's lips, pleased to see the pink spot blossoming against pale skin.

“So that's how it is,” Toya muses, before connecting their lips properly. Akito puts a hand on Toya's back and starts to slowly walk them towards his bed, careful not to trip. He guides Toya to lay down, then pulls away and detaches himself from Toya to put their clothes onto his chair and table. Once that's done, he gets back on top of Toya and pauses.

The golden lighting filtering in through the windows highlights the smoothness of Toya's skin, sunlight dripping amber into grey eyes. With his loose shirt offering a taste of what lies underneath, hair fanning out on the pillow, Toya looks delectable.

Akito has an idea on how to try and savour every inch of him.

Akito starts by shrugging off his jacket; it will only hinder his movements. Then, he cards a hand through Toya's hair, then down his face, until he’s cradling Toya's jaw.

“Can I undress you?” He asks, gently stroking his thumb against Toya's soft, squishy cheek. He can feel it shift under the pad of his finger when Toya smiles.

“Didn't you just dress me up?” He sounds amused, but the sparkle in his eyes betrays his curiosity. “And you can, of course.”

Akito pulls away to give Toya space. Once he sits up, Akito takes off his shirt and tank top, tossing them aside. Then, he gently pushes Toya to lay back down and starts to work on undoing his pants. Once they're open, Toya lifts his hips, and Akito slides them down, taking them off alongside his socks.

Now that Toya's ready, Akito enacts his plan.

He starts by lifting Toya's right foot to his lips. There's a small mole at the top of it, and Akito presses his lips against it. Then, he moves his lips higher, to the mole on the side of Toya's ankle. That one receives a kiss too.

At this point, Toya has figured out his plan; the soft gasp that leaves his lips sounds sweet as honey, spilling over onto Akito. He's determined to hear that sound again, and again, and again.

He continues his travels up Toya's leg; from the mole on his calf, to the one on his shin, to the one left of his kneecap. The skin he caresses is delicate and smooth; the flesh hidden underneath must be even softer. His teeth itch to sink them in, but to do that would be to leave a sharp, violent mark, which is not what he wants to do. Not today, not right now.

Instead, he focuses on cherishing every single mole he can reach, kissing every star he can see. Some people say that your moles represent the spots your lover liked to kiss you in your past life, and were that to be true, Akito will make sure the starry map on Toya's skin will accompany him into his next life, and the one after that, and so on.

Once he reaches the material of Toya's boxers, he moves back down to begin his journey anew. However, before he can start, he feels Toya's leg tense under his hands, and then familiar fingers card through his hair and pull him into a kiss. Akito lets himself be kissed, responds back before pulling away.

“Can I carry on?” He strokes Toya's shin with his thumbs, gently caressing the skin. He takes a moment to study Toya's face; the soft pink dusting his cheeks, and how it darkens once it reaches his ears; the way his eyes shine in golden light, a kaleidoscopic reflection of the world around him; how every muscle on his face contributes to the adoration etched into his expression. Akito remembers, can't ever forget, how stony his face used to be – it feels almost funny, compared to now. Sometimes, he finds it hard to believe that this open, curious boy used to hide under a mask.

“Yes.” Toya leans on his elbows instead of lying down fully, feathery grey-amber watching his every move.

Akito starts by kissing the small, flat mole on the sole of Toya's left foot. It always amazes him how different each one is; some of them are flat, like this one, while others bump out from his skin. They range in sizes, too, unique stars decorating the night sky.

Akito moves his lips to the next little star, tracing a line connecting the two points. He's done this a few times before, and the path he takes changes every time. The final destination is the only thing that remains the same.

Another soft gasp leaves Toya's lips once Akito moves to the mole sitting near the underside of Toya's knee, next to that delicate area where the bigger vessels and nerves run right below his skin. Akito strays off course, his charting of Toya's body takes a pause; he leaves a few more kisses on the tender skin, soaks in the gasps which are Toya's only response. He doesn't linger for too long and returns to the mole he'd just left, places another kiss on it in apology. After that, he carries on upwards, connects the moles on his thigh into a constellation.

Then, he's forced to pull away from milky softness once his lips reach material again. He doesn't stay away for too long, swiftly moving up and pressing his lips to the mole next to Toya's bellybutton. He takes his time moving to the next spot, enjoying the tenderness of Toya's tummy. Every time he does this, the flesh underneath his lips is softer than the previous time. Toya's still pretty slender, but he certainly looks less thin than when they first met. Akito takes pride in his contributions to this, in every bundle of coffee cookies he brought to Toya, especially the ones he made himself.

He smiles when he hears Toya's quiet laugh, a small “It tickles” escaping his lips. At that, Akito makes sure to move more leisurely, drifting from one side of his belly to another, then back again, in the longest path between the stars that he can make. He's rewarded with more of that brilliant sound, light and airy and affectionate and perfect , and he revels in it a little longer, before he moves upwards.

He starts at the left side, near the bottom of Toya's ribs. There aren't many moles on his chest, but that doesn't mean they deserve any less attention. He feels Toya shift under him, and he follows with his mouth; when fingers card through his hair, gently stroking the locks, the mystery of Toya's movement solves itself before he can look up or ask. The hand petting his hair is distracting; the temptation to melt into the touch and use the chest conveniently placed under his head as a pillow grows stronger with every pass of Toya's fingers through his hair. Akito forces himself to finish the pathway he started, then takes the hand out of his hair and straightens up, sitting on Toya's hips. He lifts Toya's hand to his mouth and presses a kiss to the mole on his thumb, right below the nailbed. He then peppers more kisses onto the moles on the remaining four fingers, before he moves on to Toya's hand, then wrist, then up his forearm.

Here, the skin is littered with stars; he knows the biggest clusters of them are on Toya's back, small galaxies splattered across milky skin, but this will be enough to satisfy him. He doesn't want to ask Toya to turn around and ruin the moment. He'll get his fill some other day. For now, he links the moles on Toya's forearm, then up his elbow and onto his arm. Here, there's also a healthy dose of them, and Akito tenderly kisses every single one. Next, he travels up Toya's shoulder and presses his lips against the few moles scattered around his collarbones, before pulling away to take his other hand instead.

He allows himself a single glance at Toya, soaking in the adoring expression, the rosy pink covering his cheeks, before he begins to press kisses into his right hand. The first one is on the top of it, which makes Akito feel like a knight greeting his beloved prince, then another on the side of his palm, then back on top, this time on his wrist. Akito slowly travels upwards, making sure to give proper love and attention to every single star on his way. Eventually, he arrives at Toya's neck, and he kisses every single mole he can reach once more.

The moles on Toya's face are last; as Akito moves his lips across Toya's face, he feels a warm, giggly breath ghost his face. He smiles, continuing his path, until he arrives on the last mole, below the right corner of his mouth.

He pauses there, letting Toya initiate the kiss. It's only a moment before his head shifts, their lips connecting again. Akito gently cradles Toya's face in his hands, and in return he feels Toya's fingers tangle in his hair again. Akito gasps into the kiss, and Toya smiles against him in response. They stay like that for a few more slow, lazy moments before Toya pulls away.

“I love you, Akito,” He breathes into the space between them, voice honey-sweet and softer than the fluffiest pancakes Akito can recall eating.

“Love ya too,” Akito responds and pecks Toya on the lips.

Toya pulls him into another kiss, slow and languid. There's no need to rush, and Akito makes the most of the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy Toya's body and lips against his. Their schedules only get busier from here, with school starting soon, their practices will run later into the night, and leisure time like this will be scarce.

With that in mind, Akito pulls away. Toya sends him a questioning look, but he lights up as soon as Akito's hands grab the hem of the improvised crop top. He quickly rids himself of the shirt and pants, then lays down on Toya, giving in to the temptation from earlier and laying his head against Toya's chest. That way he hears the melody of Toya's heartbeat, steady and strong against his ribs. It's one of Akito's favourite sounds.

Toya's hands return to his hair, resuming the gentle back and forth; Akito can't help the content sigh that escapes his lips. He places his own hands on Toya's sides, tracing random patterns into his skin. Toya gives him a happy hum, and Akito turns his head a little to press a small kiss into his chest.

They stay like this for a while, melded into each other. But good things can't last, and when the golden sun starts giving way to a much more artificial yellow, they have to separate for good.

“I wish you could stay the night,” Akito murmurs as he leaves his spot on Toya's chest. His movements are sluggish as his brain works to come back online, wishing to chase after the warm fuzziness of being one with Toya. He doesn't want Toya to leave, and he also doesn't want to deal with the mess in his room. This situation is a loss all around.

“I know. I want to stay too.” Toya remains in his spot even after Akito got off him, and Akito picks up Toya's clothes while gathering his own and tosses the bundle onto the space next to him.

“Can't you work your magic on your dad again?” Akito asks as he's pulling on his pants.

Toya chuckles, “I fear I can't overuse this spell.”

“Shame. I'll walk you back, then?” Akito knows there's no point in asking, knows the answer will be “Yes”, but there's something about this simple phrase that keeps pushing him to do it every time.

“Of course,” Toya agrees. Akito watches him finally turn over to the side, and pick up the shirt he came here in. “Can I get one of yours?” He puts the shirt behind himself, reaching for his pants instead.

Akito takes off the tee he'd just put on and passes it to Toya. The other boy pauses with his pants halfway on to take the shirt and press it to his face. Akito chuckles at the sight, then picks up Toya's makeshift crop top and takes out the pins so he can put it on. He tosses on his hoodie too, then gathers the clothes strewn about his room. He puts Toya's ones in the bag they brought them in, and throws the rest in his closet to deal with later.

By the time he's done, Toya is sitting all dressed on the bed. He's holding Pochacco in his arms, his face buried in the soft material, and he looks painfully adorable.

“Ready?” Akito asks, taking his phone, wallet and keys out of the backpack to throw them into a smaller bag instead.

“Mhm…” Toya responds, sounding not at all ready.

“The offer of sleeping over is still on.” Akito grabs the first bag he can get and puts his essentials in, then walks over to sit next to Toya.

“Mmm…” Toya buries his face deeper into the plushie, curling around it.

Akito leans closer to Toya and wraps his arms around him, hiding his face in soft, blue locks.

“Aren't your parents leaving for the weekend? We can cuddle all you want then,” Akito whispers, then kisses Toya's head.

That little reminder works, and Toya pulls away from the plushie. Akito lets go of Toya to grab his bags for him, and with Toya finally back in order they can begin to leave Akito's place. They quietly make their way over to the doorway, only to find that all for naught, as Ena is awake and in the kitchen.

“Good evening, Toya-kun,” She greets. Akito rolls his eyes at the lack of acknowledgement for him, “Heading out already?”

“Yes, I need to be home soon. I got a few things for you at the arcade, Akito will pass them on.” Toya replies, sitting Pochacco down on the stool to free up his hands.

“Thanks. Be careful on the way back, alright?” Ena's voice mixes in with the clinking of metal on ceramic, and then her footsteps echo softly through the house.

“Akito is walking me back,” Toya says, and he always sounds happy to say that, even though Akito makes sure to walk Toya back whenever he can, which is nearly every time. His heart squeezes every time Toya sounds this joyous about spending time with him.

“That's nice. Goodbye, Toya-kun!” Ena yells, and then a curse reaches their ears as something clatters to the floor.

During their small exchange, Akito has gotten ready to leave the house. Once Toya is ready too, he unlocks the door and opens it for Toya, then grabs his bags and joins him on the other side, closing the door with his foot. He locks the door and pockets his keys, then reaches out to Toya. Toya's hand joins his, the plushie thankfully tucked under Toya's arm, and they set off towards Toya's condo.

Toya sets a slow, leisurely pace, their footsteps sounding out in adagio on the pavement. The city lights bathe Toya in a myriad of colors, all of them swallowed by his usually grey eyes; their color changes with each building they pass. Pink gives way to blue, which soon melts into red; each reflection just as pretty as the previous one. But in Akito's opinion, the prettiest one is the grey, cloudy and steely and sharp and soft and bright as the moon, he loves each and every single shade he sees in Toya's eyes.

“Akito,” Toya says once they're close to his building, his tone stained with worry, “I just realized I don't think my dad will be happy to see him.” Toya moves the arm he's using to hold Pochacco. The plushie's ears flop with the movement, and Akito doesn't consider it cute. Not even a little. The fact that Toya looks at him like a puppy whose toy was taken from it does not make Pochacco's sad, floppy ears cuter.

“Should I sneak him in for you?” Akito offers. He climbed Toya's balcony multiple times already, he will be fine doing it again. Anything to get Toya to stop making a sad face.

“Please.” Toya instantly brightens up. “Will you manage climbing while holding him?” Toya dims down, just slightly, and Akito's heart pangs with pain.

“Don't worry about it. I'll figure it out.” He's really not sure how to bring himself and the giant plushie up onto the balcony, but he'll worry about that once he's actually doing it. “Can ya sneak my bag in for me?”

Toya wordlessly takes Akito's bag and puts it inside the shopping bag, covering it with the clothes for good measure. After that, he hugs Pochacco to his chest, then passes him to Akito, taking the shopping bag instead.

They spend maybe a minute more walking, before they arrive next to Toya's building. Toya pulls him into a brief kiss, and after that, they separate.

Akito goes around the building, to where the balconies are. Toya's is only on the first floor, but the ground floor is pretty tall. He looks between the balcony and the plushie in his arms, trying to figure out the best way to do this. He thinks for a moment, hoping to figure out how to secure the dog to himself, before an idea strikes him.

He takes off his belt, then loops it through the sleeves of Pochacco’s tee. Then, he wraps the belt over one shoulder and under another, across his chest. He buckles the belt and jumps a few times, waving his arms around to see if the plushie holds. He must look like an idiot, but Toya's brilliant smile will more than make up for it.

Lastly, he takes a small running start and jumps for the little ledge on the outside of the barrier of Toya's balcony. He lets himself swing for a moment, feeling how his body behaves with the plushie on his back, then lets go and jumps down. The dog is light, but with its size Akito will have to be careful to not catch it on anything.

Finally, he hears the balcony door open. He steps back and sees Toya's worried face peering outside.

“‘m ready. Be with ya in a moment,” He notifies Toya, whose head remains nervously peeking outside. A strangled noise confirms that Toya understood his message.

Akito approaches the wall the balcony's on. He starts by grabbing the little indent in the wall made by the ground floor window, then places his foot on the ledge of the foundation and pulls himself up. He shifts his grip higher, to the top of the indent, then places his feet at the bottom of it. From here, he can easily reach the ledge of Toya's balcony. He braces his leg against the side of the indent and kicks away, reaching for the top of the barrier. His fingers tighten around the cool surface, and his other hand quickly joins the first. He pulls one leg up onto the ledge, then another, and then he straightens up and grins at Toya.

“See? ‘m fine,” He throws a leg over the ledge, then the other. He sees Toya relax slightly once both his feet are on the inner side of the balcony.

Akito hurries over to him and toes off his shoes. Toya visibly loosens up once they're both safely inside, the balcony door closed. Akito quickly unbuckles his belt and removes Pochacco from his back; a quick look-over confirms the plushie is unharmed. He hands it to Toya, who buries his head in it, then pulls away with a smile.

“He smells a little like you. It'll be nice to hug him when you're not here.” Toya walks off to sit Pochacco down on his bed, while Akito is left staring at the spot where Toya was just standing, a warm, fuzzy feeling spreading through his veins.

“If you don't mind, you can wait until my parents are asleep. It shouldn't take too long,” Toya offers, patting the space next to him. Akito accepts the invite to join him on the bed, but chooses to settle in Toya's lap.

“Y'know, I'd much rather they take ages to fall asleep,” Akito presses a kiss to the tip of Toya's nose, “I would rather wait for hours to leave.”

Toya's responding laugh is soft, its warmth wrapping around Akito's heart. Akito puts his arms around Toya and pulls him closer, so close he can faintly smell the cologne still clinging to the skin on Toya's neck, even though he applied it hours ago. Akito presses his lips against the mark he'd made earlier, then moves down and adds another.

Above him, Toya gasps. The soft sound echoes in the otherwise silent room, bouncing off soundproofed walls and coming back to Akito with double the force. It's all he ever wants to hear, so he moves his hands under Toya's shirt to take it off. Toya, always in sync with him, always the perfect partner, lifts his arms up. Akito quickly takes off the shirt and tosses it away, then pushes Toya down on the bed and lies down on top of him. He presses his lips to Toya's skin again, trailing kisses down his neck until he lands on Toya's collarbones. He leaves another mark on pale skin, earning another sweet gasp, then covers the protrusion in gentle kisses.

Toya responds with a quiet, breathless giggle; its sweet chiming only spurs Akito on. The sound is hypnotizing, and if he wasn't already under Toya's spell, he'd become entranced in this very moment.

He's not sure how or when it happened, initially. All he knows is that Toya is irresistible, that saying “no” to him isn't an option. There's something about him that keeps Akito hooked, chasing after that sweetness only Toya can give him.

Maybe it's the same force that lured Akito in, those few years ago. It wrapped itself around his neck, comfortable and warm, and guided him to Toya, encouraged him to ask to be singing partners. It felt inevitable, a predestined path for him to take, yet it didn't feel suffocating nor forced; less of a restraint and more of a collar and leash, to lead him to the person made for him. It only feels appropriate, with their duo name of BAD DOGS being his own idea, that Akito would loyally listen to the person he was led to, like a dog.

Toya's fingers land in his hair, guiding him upwards. Akito, of course, obliges and moves higher, until his lips can meet Toya's again. The kiss is sweet, as it always is; slow or fast, lazy or biting, it's the one thing that remains the same. The skin of Toya's lips is soft and perfect; once Akito has to pull away to catch his breath, he bites into the plump flesh before breaking apart.

Toya's eyes glisten when they meet his, the usual grey pushed out by his dilated pupils, and in the dim lighting filtering in from the outside Akito can see the flush resting on his cheeks. He's enticing, a beautiful invitation Akito can't resist, so he swoops in again for another kiss. This time, he's faster, more demanding; Toya, as always, responds in kind. Akito might be greedy, but it’s Toya who enables him, lets him take as much as he wants.

It's the same greed that makes him break away again, enlightened by an idea. He grins down at Toya, so wonderful and perfect under him, and leans down to press a kiss to his cheek.

“Why don't I stay the night?” He whispers against his skin, getting the subtlest taste of it with the movement of his lips.

“Please,” Toya whispers back, “We just need to be careful to not get caught.”

Akito can only kiss him again, chasing after that sweetness. It tastes even better now, knowing that he has all night to enjoy it, to savour it, all in secret.

Toya has told him that once, his father said that Akito “corrupted” him. Right now, having snuck into Toya's room, seeing Toya's angelic features splayed on the pillow underneath him, only for him to see, he certainly feels like a corrupting force, a devil. He doesn't mind, and Toya doesn't seem to mind either, with the way he reaches out to him and meets him in the middle.

If what Toya wants is corruption, Akito will happily oblige.
