Chapter Text
Stephanie Brown woke up with a pained groan. She squeezed her eyes harder and winced as it seemed like she received a migraine to rival the pain she’d received under torture. Mother—ah ah ah.
It felt like an eternity but it settled after just a few minutes.
Stephanie Brown winced as she opened her eyes. At least it was still dark. What had that been?
She got out of bed to get some water and pills. Luckily didn’t need to turn on the lights to find those things. She’d probably sit out of patrol if it carried over to the evening if it wasn’t an all hands on deck situation.
She popped the pills and went back to bed. She wasn’t going to risk the time. Even though she was certain it was 4:32 a.m. She was tired.
She didn’t know how Peter had done this.
She paused. Who the fuck was Peter?
Wait.
She knew who Peter was. Stephanie took a breath and relaxed. Her brain was still killing her but it seemed like she was unraveling information quickly.
There’d been a multiverse incident in another world. It had involved that world’s heroes. A magician had sent Peter somewhere. Somewhere he’d be safe. She’d been there. But how?
She’d been seeing everything and couldn’t help beyond guiding him.
What had Peter called her? What had been her variant? Who had she—
Oh.
She’d been Karen.
An AI.
Strange had sent Peter and by extension her to this universe. Only Stephanie was a person in this reality. So she’d simply become one with Karen.
Where was Peter? Had he woken up alone somewhere? Without her to help him?
She had find Peter. She had to let the others know she’d been compromised. They had to find Peter if she couldn’t in her little meaty body.
Okay… she was going to have to deal with some weird dissonance between being technological and now being fully biological wasn’t she? Whatever. She could deal with that once her head wasn’t killing her.
