It was a few shows into HUNTR/X's Comeback tour when disaster struck.
Mira had been getting quite stressed. She loved performing, of course, but it was hard re-adjusting to the stress of touring after the hiatus.
Beyond this, transition periods were always hard for her due to her Autism, which only increased the stress, as she was quickly going from relaxing on the Couch all day to getting most of her rest on plane rides.
But, she did what she could to hide how stressed she was. Her faults and fears must never be seen, right? Besides, all three of them were stressed, what with Zoey's usual troubles from her own Autism and ADHD and Rumi's ever-present anxiety. Her problems should hardly take priority.
Unfortunately, though, stress had always been one of the bigger triggers for her Epilepsy and, with how overwhelmed she was with the tour, she'd forgotten to take her medication this particular day.
All this is to say that it wasn't exactly the most shocking thing ever when, right when it was her turn to sing her verse for Golden during the show, she instead collapsed to the ground and began seizing.
Audience members began muttering and panicking, worried for the choreographer, and stage techs quickly did what they could to shut down the show and give the trio as much privacy as they could.
No matter how many times Zoey and Rumi saw the other huntress seize, it never got any less worrying. Still, they set their own feelings aside and instead sprang to action.
Rumi turned the woman onto her side and began keeping track of time while Zoey placed her jacket under Mira's head and began muttering reassurances.
While seizures were never good, it was rare for them to cross that point where it became a medical emergency.
But, after five minutes, the seizing still hadn't stopped, and Rumi felt her heart sink as she motioned for someone to call paramedics.
"Okay" Rumi breathed the best she could. This was such a disaster, and she couldn't help but fear the worst. Epilepsy could be really dangerous, especially when the seizures lasted so long... "Okay, sweetheart, we're going to the hospital. Paramedics are on the way..."
When Mira awoke, she was in a hospital bed with numerous wires hooked up to her to keep track of her vitals.
Her head was pounding and her brain felt as though it was filled with cotton. She barely processed her bandmates by her side standing to attention.
"Wha' happ'n'd?" she asked, her voice slurred. Zoey frowned. Seeing Mira in the postictal state was almost as bad as the seizing itself.
"You had a seizure during the show" Zoey explained calmly as Rumi went out into the hall to let a nurse know that she had woken up. "It passed the five-minute mark, so we had to call paramedics" she continued. Mira squirmed slightly. "It's okay, though" the rapper quickly reassured. "It's over now. You're okay"
"'M sorry" Mira apologized, feeling embarrassingly emotional. She knew it wasn't exactly her fault and that this was just something that happened from time to time due to her condition, but reasoning like that didn't exactly exist in her postictal brain. All she knew in this moment was that she had caused distress.
"Don't apologize, love" Rumi said, entering back into the room. "We're just glad you're okay"
"We've got everything handled" Zoey reassured. Mira felt horribly exhausted. God, seizures were the worst... "Just try and rest, baby. We've got you"
Mira was too exhausted to argue, so she instead just allowed herself to get some rest under the watch of her girls.
Lord knows she needed it.
