Chapter 1: An Entrance

Chapter Text

Silence.

It was late at night, Battat unable to sleep. The silence was deafening; his ears ringing, his eyes twitching, the whole-ass "i can't sleep for the life of me" combo.

He glanced over at the clock on his bedside table for the 70th time (yes, he was keeping count), and let out an exaggerated sigh as he read:

2:66

Wait a minute.

Battat immediately turned back to his clock, blinking rapidly.

It still read 2:66.

He immediately grabbed his phone and took a picture, thinking of his theory board (as always). But when he viewed the picture, the clock didn't show a time. And when he looked back up at it...

There was a pair of eyes instead.

Battat jumped. The piercing yellow and pink eyes resembling Pluey's costume, but not the same- that wasn't Pluey.

His ears suddenly stopped ringing.

A chorus of laughter replaced it.

Battat's blood went cold.

He heard a distant ringing of a phone piercing through the laughter.

The laughter stopped, and the eyes disappeared- but the phone kept ringing.

Battat got up, strangely entranced by it's rings. He began to walk towards the sound. He ended up in the Green Room, which was covered in TV snow.

He listened closely as he heard the phone ring. It was coming from the rank rooms.

Battat opened the door, entering the desk area. The ringing wasn't in one of the rooms, though. It was coming from the wall.

He remembered the Z-rank room, and pressed the button behind the counter to open the way.

The ringing got louder as the wall disappeared.

Battat gulped, but he hesitantly continued. He entered the Z-rank room, the old phone there ringing loudly.

Battat walked over, and hesitantly picked it up.

It was just garbage noise.

Battat fainted.
