Chapter Text
Stiles laid in his bed covering his ears from the alarm that would not shut up. Thomas burst through the door and ripped of the blankets. Thomas held the covers above Stiles head, said head groaned in agony as he was assaulted by the cold air. "Wake your ass up," Thomas growled. "I've been listening to that shucking clock all shucking morning." He was pissed for, like, no reason. In Stiles' opinion, Thomas needed to chill because beauty sleep was important thank you very much.
"I don't understand you." Stiles said, half-asleep. Thomas rolled his eyes, yeah, he was cranky. For the first time in 3 years, Thomas was finally able to start a normal highschool life. It wasn't his fault that some weird underground science facility decided to kidnap him. Stiles needed to get his ass up because Thomas did not want to be late. He was not letting his lazy brother delay his normal life any longer.
Stiles groggily sat up and ushered Thomas out of his room, groaning the entire time. His eyes hurt and Stuart was supposed to be coming today which meant a lot more sass than he was used to over the years. This year was going to be fucking insane.
By the time he finished, Thomas was already sitting on the couch waiting. By waiting, Stiles meant bouncing his leg up and down and fiddling with his jacket zipper. Could he calm down for a second? No one should be this intense about school. Ever. Thomas tossed the car keys to Stiles and walked to the front door. A familiar face looked at the two teens before breaking into a wide smile. "Guys, what's up? I haven't seen either of you in forever." Stuart greeted, he turned to Thomas, "Get kidnapped again and I'll beat your ass."
"I don't plan on it. Those years were pretty shitty." Thomas replies, smiling. He hugged his brother for a couple minutes before leaning back, "The three musketeers back together again. How long you staying, Stu?"
"I'm finishing highschool out here, so three years. Get used to me." Stuart stuck his tongue out at them before getting whacked by Stiles. He smiled his perfected shit-eating smile back before getting pushed out the door by Thomas.
Thomas checked his watch, 7:30am. According to the school website, classes started at 8:20 but supposedly they needed to grab breakfast in the cafeteria. "C'mon, I'm sure if I remember anything about Stuart he's prepared so he should be ready for school."
Stuart held up his backpack and rolled his eyes, "Well fucking duh. Y'all really thought I was gonna show up without school supplies? I'm not Stiles."
"Hey!"
"Anyway, to the Jeep!" The three of them piled into the car, having a brief argument over who was going to drive between Stiles and Stuart. Thomas immediately shut his mouth when asked who should drive. That was a 'them' issue, not his. Thomas was very comfortable in the backseat.
They arrived at the front of the school at 7:50 and the three stepped out. The students who knew Stiles and tried to wave had to take a double look. They were definitely going to break the school, Stiles could feel it. At least they were separated for some of their classes, his teachers were going to have an aneurysm.
"Alright, Tom." Thomas snapped to attention at Stiles's voice, "I know that there was some crazy shit going on down there, but I need you to try to chill out. Stu," Stuart glanced up from his phone,"please keep the snark to a minimum. The teachers here are low-key, high-key crazy and so are the students. For the sake of your face, don't get punched because you were acting a whole fool."
Scott walked over and tapped Stuart's shoulder, "Stiles it's like a hundred degrees why are you wearing a," all three turned around to him, "......beanie." He blinked a couple times and smiled blankly.
"Holy crap, Scott is that you?" Thomas exclaimed, "You look a steroid junkie. The shuck you been doing, man?" He squeezed a bicep and held it up to his head, "This thing is like the size of my face!"
"Oh my god, Tom, you can't just ask people if they're taking steroids." Stiles chastised.
"What we're quoting 'Mean Girls'?" Stuart remarked. "But, yeah, I'm with Thomas on this. You're fucking ripped, last time I saw you, you were a scraggly eighth grader."
"Thanks?"
Thomas idly squeezed Scott's bicep as he talked, "Dude, I haven't seen this man since sixth grade." At Stuart and Stiles' confused looks he elaborated, "I had moved in with Mom and then I got snatched in eighth."
Stuart and Stiles nodded, remembering the summer when Thomas went to live with their mom. Their parents had just divorced and Thomas had opted to stay with their mom. Then he had gotten kidnapped and their mom had gotten killed. Freshman year was hard for the Stilinski family after that and Stuart got sent to some gifted school in San Francisco, leaving Stiles with his dad.
Scott had an epiphany and looked at the brothers with a glint in his eyes, "I totally remember now! I was lost for a second but everything just came back to me." He stopped speaking at a mile a minute and looked at Thomas with a soft look. "How are you holding up? They busted you out only last week, right?"
"Yeah, but I'm fine."
Thomas looked around the school, it was nice enough. It was kinda old looking but there were most likely renovations within the last ten years. It was going to be interesting integrating back into normal society after being taken by a bunch of mad scientists. WICKED had been easily dismissed as lunatics but what the public didn't know was that they had uncovered something about Thomas. When the triplets were toddlers, it was discovered that they could bend the elements but only around each other. This discovery led to tension in their parents' marriage, their mom had been lying about being human. She was really a nymph and a powerful one at that.
A familiar voice rang through the crowds of students, ripping Thomas from his thoughts. "Well I'd been shucked and gone back to heaven. I never thought I'd see you ever again, much less clean."
Thomas breathed a small 'holy shit' at the sight of the leader of the Runners. It was Minho. And he was okay! And he hadn't told Thomas?! They met each half way with Stiles and Stuart watching curiously. Then the brothers gasped at the sight of Minho getting punched in the face.
Stiles and Stuart ran to break up the fight, chastising Thomas as he backed up. Minho was helped up by a girl who came running from her car. "Dude, what the shit?" Minho barked after checking his lip. It was split in the corner and he angrily started to wipe at it. There was already a slight bruise blooming on his cheekbone and Stiles and Stuart looked at each other, confused. Since when did Thomas have a mean right hook?
"You haven't been in contact for what? Three weeks?! After everything we've been through... where have you been?" Thomas yelled, tearing up.
"I'm not allowed to have three weeks inbetween? What about you? The Scorch, does that ring a bell? Just because you were with your babe Brenda, doesn't mean we weren't worried."
"That doesn't count." Stuart and Stiles were becoming uncomfortable, along with a very lost Scott.
"Oh come on, Thomas. Ok, how about the time we were trapped in the Maze at night? Does that count?" Minho questioned. He was inching closer and closer to Thomas and Thomas wasn't backing down.
"The fuck are you talking about, you slinthead? You left me in there and I had to make sure that Alby didn't die out there. But go off, I guess." They were almost nose to nose, Thomas glaring up at Minho and Minho staring down at him. There was some obvious sexual tension between and Stuart rolled his eyes before grabbing Thomas' collar and dragging him to the cafeteria with Stiles in tow. Stuart pushed Thomas into a seat at a table, glaring at him.
Thomas was avoiding his brothers stares and fiddling with his the hem of his hoodie. Stuart finally broke the awkward silence between the trio. "What and who was that? We tried to give you space or whatever but if the people from that start popping up and picking fights with you. We need to know what happened and what the connection is between you guys."
Stiles nodded his head in agreement, "That dude you were yelling at is the half-brother of Kira Yukimura, Scott's ex-girlfriend. So, if this is something that's gonna come between friends then you should spill."
"Fine. Minho was the leader of a group in the Glade, the place where we were taken, called the Runners. They were the ones who tried to scout out a way to leave the maze we where in. He was there longer than me, when I got there some shit happened and I joined the Runners. We found a way out- which was just another test- and ended up in a desert environment. That was where we got separated, the second time. And we, uh....." Thomas explained, trailing off at the end. Stuart gestured impatiently for him to continue. "We made out..... a lot over the course of all the stuff. But we never made anything official because we thought we might die like everyday so...."
Stiles raised his eyebrows, "That's why I had the feeling that you guys knew each other well, if you catch my drift."
Thomas smacked him upside the head, face red.
The triplets were at their lockers which were conveniently placed next to each other. Gifts from Stuart's friends from a summer internship at Google. The school was too easy to hack, honestly. They walked to the hallway where their first period was located, unfortunately they had Pre-Calculus because they were smart or whatever. Stiles groaned when they got to the door. The teacher was a portly, balding man who tried to be funny but wasn't. "Heads up, since y'all are a week late into the school year, you'll get the new kid treatment." Stiles reminded the two.
"Today we have two new students, Stuart and Thomas Stilinski." The math teacher grumbled as he turned away. "Why did I have to have all three of them, why me God?"
The trio was separated across the room, a desperate attempt to keep the talking to a minimum. Around five minutes into the class, Minho burst through the door looking frazzled. He went over to the teacher to explain why he was late and was introduced to the class. His assigned seat was to Thomas' left and the two of them shared a look that decided that they would meet after class to talk. Because they were new, they could always use the 'I got lost' excuse. For now, all Thomas wanted to do was pay attention to class.
