Work Text:

After they had done a thorough check on the grocery list, Jinu realized that they forgot to include the chicken nuggets that their youngest daughter loved so much.

"I'll get it. You stay here since I know how much you hate the cold aisle" He offers, referring to the frozen food section which Rumi dreaded to go to everytime they do groceries together.

She smiles to herself, her eyes still following her husband's every move when he left to go get the nuggets. How lucky can a girl be to be married to a man who's always willing to go the extra mile just to keep his family happy?

Yerin can survive a week without the chicken nuggets but her 'appa' couldn't, seeing the disappointed look in her face when they'll come home without it

"Hi there"

Rumi flinches at her spot, snapping out of her trance when an unknown man greets her. She was slightly infuriated when this stranger blocked the perfect view she had of Jinu but still smiled to greet him nonetheless.

"Hi" she says, hiding her displeasure. He could very well be one of their fans so she couldn't bring herself to be rude and push him away. Maybe he just wants an autograph. "Do you need anything?"

"No I just came over to give you company. Pretty girls like you don't deserve to be alone"

Rumi had to stop herself from making a revolted look on her face. Is she suppose to swoon after that?

"I'm good thank you. I'm waiting for someone actually" she casually tells him off. If he's not a fan and just came to flirt then he doesn't deserve her attention now does he?

"Good we can wait together"

Rumi sighs- this creep really couldn't take a hint.

"Hey check that guy out" the stranger laughs condescendingly as he pointed at none other than the man she married. A coy smile forms at her lips, knowing why he would laugh at Jinu at that moment.

Just this morning, their children had insisted to play salon and dress up. That is why Jinu ended up with four different hair colors from all the chalk hair dye that scattered on the quadrants of his head with flower and rainbow hair clips to match.

Jinu could've easily washed off the color and taken off the clips but he didn't, claiming how hard his daughters had worked on them. His ego wasn't fragile and his love for their children transcends what the public might think of him. That's the man that she married- why would she want anyone else?

"He's a grown man! Who does that? Isn't he ashamed to wear those girly clips in his hair? What kind of person does that?"

Rumi laughs "-the father of my children?"

The stranger's face went from smug to horrified at her words and not even ten seconds later muttered strings of apologies at her "I didn't think that you'd be married- and to him?"

Why not him? Her husband is absolutely perfect

"I got it, and I got you strawberry ice cream too" Jinu comes back just in time. The stranger is still there but he's currently preparing to run away when her husband gave him a menacing glare "-and who are you?" Jinu asks, hooking an arm around his wife's waist to establish ownership.

He held back. His question was suppose to be "who are you and what are you doing talking and standing way too close to my wife?"

"He's just leaving" Rumi kindly answers for the stranger before Jinu decides to pick up an old habit and offers this pathetic man's soul to Gwi-Ma.

As soon as the man left the couple, scampering away in fear, Rumi turns to her husband, smiling suspiciously and tattled "He made fun of your hair"

Jinu dramatically gasps "How dare he? Minji and Yerin did a great job on my hair!"

"I know I know. He's just jealous" she pouts, faking a tear at this most horrendous experience.

The two of them laughed, lost in their own world as they mocked the nameless stranger endlessly. They walked hand in hand, Jinu taking extra precautions that every person they come across from now on would know just who this beautiful woman belongs to.

Notes:

A talented author/artist drew both Minji and Yerin (Rumi and Jinu's children) for my birthday last week. I wanted to gift you back another childfic which will happen in the near future but please just take this short and ridiculous fic for now 🥹

If you guys want to see, here is what she draw. Words couldn't describe how grateful I am.
