Work Text:

Denki looked out the window that afternoon, his jaw dropping at how stormy it now was, when it’d been super sunny just that morning. He was immediately excited—He loved the rain.
He immediately put on his raincoat and boots, then grabbed his umbrella. He was out the door before anyone could even notice him.
Denki didn’t care what age he was; he was never too old to go outside and play in the rain. He splashed in puddles for nearly half an hour before someone else came outside.
“Denki, people have been looking for you everywhere. What are you doing?” It was Kyoka.
“Oh, I’m playing in the rain!” Denki smiled.
“What are you, a kid?” Jiro questioned.
“Technically, we are all still kids, Kyoka. And you’re never too old to play in the rain,” Denki retorted.
“You literally just got better from the flu. You’re going to get sick again if you stay out here too long,” Kyoka came off the porch with her own umbrella.
Kaminari then jumped into a puddle hard enough to launch water droplets at her. He laughed when some hit her face.
“Come on, you know you want to!” Kaminari taunted as he dropped his umbrella and ran through the water.
“Fine, but only for a few minutes.” Kyoka sighed, dropping her umbrella on the porch. She waited for the right opportunity before jumping into a large puddle, launching water at Denki as he’d done to her.
“Eek!” Denki tried to dodge the attack, but that ended in him losing his balance and falling onto the wet ground.
Jiro had a good laugh about that. “Are you okay?”
“Yep, I’m good. A little help would be great, though.”
Jiro smiled and pulled him up. She then proceeded to launch water at him again, then ran away while he composed himself.
“Oh, it’s on!”
The two went back and forth, launching water as it continued to pour. In the end, Kyoka had Denki pinned to the ground, both of their hair getting wet as their hoods fell.
“I win,” Kyoka smirked.
“That, you did,” Kaminari agreed.
“Maybe we should go inside now, we’re getting soaked,” Jiro suggested.
“Yeah, you just need to get off of me, first.” Jiro immediately got up and then helped Denki to his feet.
They headed back toward the building, picking up their umbrellas on the way.
“You know, Denki, you were right. You’re never too old to play in the rain,” Kyoka stated when they were at the door.
Denki smiled. “Told ya.”
