Work Text:
Shen Yuan had honestly been thrilled about Wei Wuxian’s version of phones. However, getting woken up by a lot of panicked notifications for messages wasn’t so fun. Drowsily, he picked up his Xianxia phone to turn it silent, but he paused when he saw the messages had come from the other Peak Lords.
Bai Zhan Peak had apparently been subjected to some weird rain which had turned the entire peak into a muddy version of quicksand and Liu Qingge was currently busy pulling out his disciples.
Xian Shu Peak had been put under an illusion for everyone to look like an old hag and the disciples there had nearly had a panic attack thinking they’d actually been aged up.
An Ding Peak was haunted by giant bees. For some reason.
The entire Qiong Ding Peak had been painted pink and orange.
The list went on.
Actually, the only peak who seemed to have been spared was Qing Jing Peak. Which clearly made them the next target of whoever was responsible for this. However, right when Shen Yuan was about to raise the alarm, a new message popped up on his Xianxia phone. Someone seemed to have hacked into the Peak Lord group chat.
‘Hi there, Cang Qiong Mountain. We hope you liked our greeting.’
Shen Yuan stared blankly at the message. What the hell?
Xue Yang smirked at the enraged Peak Lords assembled in front of him. “It’s really not our fault your security is this terrible.”
Yue Qingyuan really should’ve asked more questions when Shen Jiu had told him about this young man and his girlfriend. How the hell was the other world still standing with these two existing? Though as far as Yue Qingyuan was aware, Wei Wuxian had still destroyed more with his experiments than Xue Yang, Song Qing and all of Xie Lian’s ascensions combined. Seriously, how did anyone live over there? No wonder they’d all come for a vacation.
“You think you can just break into my peak without any repercussions?” Qi Qingqi hissed. She still looked like an old hag out of some horror story. “Men breaking into our peak get murdered!”
“Calm down, Peak Lady, I’m not a creep,” Xue Yang replied. “A-Qing set up the illusion for your peak all on her own. Aren’t we considerate?”
Qi Qingqi needed to be held back by Yue Qingyuan.
“Yes, you’re absolute paragons, now please call off the bees!” Shang Qinghua begged.
Liu Qingge glared at Xue Yang and Song Qing. “I’m sure they’ll disappear if I run the brats through with my sword!”
Song Qing gasped theatrically. “The honorable War God of Cang Qiong would kill a little girl for a small prank? How cruel!”
Now Liu Qingge needed to be held back by Yue Qingyuan.
Fortunately, Shen Jiu finally showed up and gave the gremlins an annoyed look. “Alright, so what do you two think you’re doing?”
“Testing the sect’s defenses,” Song Qing replied innocently. “It would be truly terrible if a hostile party would enter, wouldn’t it? We just gave some incentive to bolster their defenses.”
Xue Yang smirked. “And if we just happened to dish out some payback for your treatment here, it’s a lucky coincident.”
“So it’s your fault?” Qi Qingqi yelled angrily.
Shen Jiu glared back. “Hardly.”
“Are you deaf? They clearly…”
Xue Yang smirked even wider and fist-bumped with Song Qing while Qi Qingqi and Shen Jiu devolved into a shouting match. “Well, our work here is done. Would be unfair to not make trouble for the Qing Jing Peak Lord as well.”
Sha Hualing stomped angrily over to the place Xue Yang and Song Qing were currently devising their next scheme in. Usually, Sha Hualing would gleefully laugh at Cang Qiong Mountain getting pranked to hell and back, but this prank had involved Liu Mingyan!
She hadn’t gotten into a panic like some of the other Xian Shu disciples because A-Yan was way too smart and composed for that. However, the others, as stated, had panicked. Had panicked so thoroughly one of them had run into Liu Mingyan on accident and the latter had suffered a small bruise. The bruise had been healed in a couple of minutes, but still. The offending party had to pay! This was an offense worthy of a war declaration! Or it would be if A-Yan hadn’t forbidden her from murdering Xue Yang and Song Qing. Still, Sha Hualing would at least pay back the bruise! Repeatedly!
Therefore, here Sha Hualing was, about to beat someone up with a couple of her subordinates. “Hey, you two!” she yelled angrily.
Xue Yang and Song Qing looked over to her. The latter whistled. “Damn, you can fight in that outfit?”
“Little blind, what do I have to do to get you into that outfit?” Xue Yang asked with a shit-eating grin.
Song Qing shoved him. “How about you wear it?”
Xue Yang cackled. “I’m open to your bribery.”
“Don’t ignore me!” Sha Hualing hissed. “You, Song Qing, you caused my girlfriend to be hurt!”
Song Qing actually interrupted her banter with Xue Yang at that and stood up to face her. “What happened? I’m pretty sure we didn’t cause any serious injuries.”
“It’s a matter of principle!”
Song Qing nodded. “Alright, I get that. So, what do you want now?”
“Fight me!” Sha Hualing demanded.
“Alright. Hey, A-Yang, can… just what are you doing?”
Sha Hualing looked over to Xue Yang to find him being surrounded by her subordinates. And they were all making pretty eyes at him.
“You sure look like a strong cultivator,” one of them purred.
“Yes, truly handsome.”
“Someone like you deserves a better partner.”
Xue Yang raised an eyebrow at the demons flirting with him and even though he didn’t reciprocate one bit, he didn’t stop them either.
“Excuse me for one moment,” Song Qing said calmly.
Afterwards, she drew her swords and launched herself at Sha Hualing’s subordinates.
Xue Yang watched his girlfriend fight with a dreamy smile. “Gods, she’s so pretty when she’s angry and stomping someone into the ground.”
“You’re next!” Song Qing yelled while she nearly beheaded one of the demons.
“Love you, too, little blind!”
Sha Hualing looked back and forth between Xue Yang and Song Qing. And everyone was sure those two weren’t demons in hiding?
