Summary
To yield to an uncaring world is a farce.
Pasgard doesn’t get with the program. If the world growls at him, he bites back. If it beckons him to dance for survival, he breaks its legs. And if it chews him up and spits him back out, he will crawl through his own guts if it means to stay on his chosen path. Nights spent hungrily staring at the stars and cursing his upcoming clients remain infinitely more dignified than to fall in line with the common rabble. His cold philosophy has kept him out of the church’s clutches this long, and he will never let them reduce him to their lamb to the slaughter.
When one of his clients vanishes and leaves behind a helpless toddler, Pasgard’s tried and tested survival strategy may leave him with a daunting choice.
