Tragedy of the Spoon Seller

Summary:

“Spoon Seller, listen.” Her saying my name caught my attention. Heh… I bet she doesn't know I can understand people… “I'm gonna trade you to Makoto, my Japanese friend… I'm gonna get you back, I promise, I just need a cover-up, and I can't afford to lose you! I'm in, like, huge trouble, a gang is looking for me… You get it, right?”

… I understand people… to an extent, because WHAT WAS THIS GIRL RAMBLING ON ABOUT?!

Well, I don't have free will, so I simply did my little twirl as a form of agreement.

“I knew you'd understand.” She shed a tear. “Well then, goodbye, my dear Spoon Seller.”

Taken away from home, but still in the same country, Spoon Seller is confused as fuck.
A story about true betrayal.

Notes:

I said its based on real events.
ofc im not being chased by a gang, simply i wanted to evolve my kadabra and the japanesee dude stole my dear spoon seller. credits to my dad for the plot.

Its kinda racist i guess. Dont be racist kiddos. its baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

This is a story of how I, Spoon Seller, now wander an unknown land due to a string of tragic events.

My story starts on top of a building, when I was just a meek Abra. I wandered the rooftop, seeking something, though I cannot remember what. Then, suddenly, I felt something hit my back. I’ve heard legends about the trainers who train us and other friends or foes alike, so we become theirs. Fight for them, offer comfort…

But those were only legends to me. Many of my friends reported seeing something human-like, but they teleported away in time. Others suddenly went missing.

Was it my turn to become a slave? I tried to fight back, but the chest was too strong, and I couldn’t get out. Cruel!

I could hear that the trainer was happy that it caught me in this trap, then, for some reason, she let me out of the ball. I tried to flee, but failed to do so. The only thing I knew how to do was float and teleport. Yet when I tried to float away, I felt some weird force push me back to the ‘trainer,’ and I physically COULDN’T teleport.

Before I knew it, I was back inside this chest.

Countless hours, maybe even days, passed, and I still haven’t seen the daylight. But I felt some mysterious power grow inside of me. The trainer let me out of the ball, so I could… Evolve. My limbs have grown, a star decorated my head, and I gained an item. I saw them up on the rooftop where I previously lived… What was it called? Ah, yes, a spoon.

My trainer seemed quite excited, and I won’t lie, I was too. I’ve taken quite a liking to her. I think I have Stockholm Syndrome. Anyhow, she let me stay out of the chest for some time, as she put another creature to her ear. Orange, with something wing-like, but not exactly… Wait, this thing tried to kill my grandpa once!

As I was in a panic for my life, the girl started talking to herself, saying something about a gang, a cover-up, and a trade. After a couple of minutes, she stared at the orange monster, tapping it and putting it to her ear once again, then started monologuing again.

She said something about being sure to send… me to an Asian. I did not understand what an Asian is or what was happening at the moment, but I could deduce that it was clearly nothing good.

She put me back into my ball, and I could feel that she was running somewhere. I gripped the spoon as hard as I could and hoped that the shaking would stop. It stopped after precisely one minute and thirty-six seconds.

Cannot she simply float? Anyhow, I was happy the shaking stopped. And once again, I was let out of my chest. This time, I found myself in a dark, damp place. Not ideal, but good enough for me. I miss the roof, though…

So she put me inside the chest and threw me in the air. I was sure the ball would break when I felt that, we were in a cave after all and it's quite fragile, but it just kept on flying!

Then it turned transparent and I was greeted by another of my kind in some blue space!

“Konnichiwa,” the other Kadabra said.

Yet I didn't have time to respond. Before I knew it, the chest turned solid again, and I was falling to the ground at dangerous speeds. When it hit the ground, the ball cracked open, and I was greeted by a weird man. He didn't look like my trainer at all. Sure, he had four limbs, a head, and looked to be the same creatur,e but…

He looked at me, his not-so-wide eyes wide, as I started to evolve again. The star from my forehead disappeared, my mustache grew… but most importantly…

I got another spoon.

“Sugoi!” He shouted out as he took me under his arm and started leading me through the mysterious land. It looked nothing like the ugly city I'm used to. It looked actually clean.

No holes in the road or anything. But where was he dragging me?

Well, like I said, I have no free will, so I stayed put. A coupleof hours of me listening to him talk in some weird language later, I found myself in a small room… with more rooms! Roomception?

“Kore wa watashi no apāto desu!” He exclaimed as he took off his shoes.

And now I wander this weird land. I've been wandering around with this guy for like 3 years already…

Am I even the Spoon Seller I was before?
