There were no words to describe just how in love Steve was with Eddie, and how much Eddie was in love with Steve.
Steve couldn’t imagine being with anyone besides being with the metalhead who has captured his heart, there was so much that Steve loved about Eddie, he could write them all down in a list if he wanted too. One of the main things that he loved about his boyfriend were his tattoos, he loved how they looked on him - the demon on his chest, the puppetmaster on his inner right arm, the spider on top of the demon on his left pec and the wyvern on his back/side of his upper arm on his right arm. However the one that got Steve’s attention the most were the flying bats that he had on his side forearm on his right arm.
Honestly, Steve never thought that he would one day get a tattoo since he literally has none on his body, even if Eddie has said to him that he would look so hot with tattoos, Eddie already thinks Steve looks so hot with his chest hair but would look even hotter if he got tattoos.
That was when Steve recently got to start thinking about what Eddie said to him that day, what if he actually got his first ever tattoo? He would be able to give him such a surprise that wouldn’t even expect. Steve eventually got to build up the courage and go to a tattoo parlour. That tattoo that he decided he was getting…
Eddie’s flying bats tattoo. He decided that he wanted to get a matching tattoo that Eddie already had.
He had walked in the tattoo parlour on a day he knew that Eddie would be out being busy with the band, which was perfect timing given the time that he made the appointment to be, he wanted to make sure that he surprised Eddie when he came to see him later on at the Harrington mansion. When getting the tattoo done, he did feel how the needle felt on his arm, feeling just a bit of pain but all in all, it wasn’t too bad.
When he looked at his arm in the mirror.
Steve fucking loved it.
He could already imagine the reaction that Eddie would have on his face when he would see how he got his first ever tattoo.
As soon as Steve got home, he started to do the aftercare for the tattoo and did what the tattoo artist instructed him to do - looking at the clock, he noticed how Eddie wouldn’t be home for an hour or so, which was again perfect timing for him to get prepared to see his reaction and he wanted to do this perfectly, along with the fact that his parents weren’t home was even more better.
Getting in his bedroom, he undressed himself before putting on Eddie’s hellfire shirt that he left here the other night that he slept here, along with just wearing his pair of boxers that Steve kept on. Steve knew how much Eddie loved it when he would wear his hellfire shirt which got him to start chuckling to himself. The only thing he had to do was wait for Eddie to finish up with the band then come over so that he would be able to show off what he had done while Eddie had been busy during the day.
Luckily, Steve wasn’t gonna have to wait any longer as he could hear the knock at the front door, knowing that it was Eddie. He immediately made his way downstairs, he could feel a slight blush start to appear on his face as he opened the front door, seeing his metalhead boyfriend standing there. Before Eddie could even give a response, Steve pulls him in the house, shutting the door behind him as he pins him against the door with Eddie letting out a surprised gasp before melting into the kiss.
Steve let his hands gently touch Eddie’s hair, threading his fingers through as he pulled away from the kiss, having a sweet smile on his face as Eddie looked at him with a smile on his face, “Could not have asked for a better greeting by you,” they both chuckled as Steve guides him to the couch, where Eddie sits down and Steve sits on his lap, Eddie looked at how Steve was wearing his hellfire shirt.
“Have I ever told you how much I love it when you wear the shirt? Looks so damn good on you.” Steve chuckles as he places a kiss on Eddie’s forehead.
Wrapping his arms around Eddie’s neck he looks at him lovingly, “How is everything with the band?” Steve asks as Eddie starts to tell him everything that happened during the day, Steve just loved listening to him explaining how his day was, it was one of the many favourite things he loved to do with him.
After Eddie had finished up with telling Steve how his day was, he noticed that Steve had kept looking to the side every now and then, wanting to know what that was about, “Any reason why you keep looking over? Seems like you have something you want to show,” Steve had almost forgot about that until Eddie had literally reminded him in the moment, he was so focused on listening to Eddie talk that he hadn’t even realised that he was glancing away every so often, “I do baby. First, I want you to close your eyes, then I’ll tell you when you can open them.”
Eddie did what Steve asked him to do. He closed his eyes as Steve looked at his arm, his tattoo, the flying bats that Eddie had gotten done on his arm. He wanted to show him so badly, and didn’t want to keep him wanting any longer.
“Okay, you can open your eyes.” Eddie opens his eyes after Steve said that he could.
He looked as to what Steve’s surprise was until he looked down to see what was on his inner arm..
Holy shit.
Eddie couldn’t believe his eyes - Steve had actually gotten his first ever tattoo, and it wasn’t just some random tattoo that he got, Steve got the flying bats tattoo that he had on his forearm right side, he noticed it was placed at the same spot where he got his.
“Baby- Your first tattoo! Wow, you’re matching with me.” Eddie couldn’t even find the words to even speak, he was just so starstruck with how his darling boyfriend had actually gotten his first tattoo done, let alone get the same one that he got done, he just adored him so much, he was at a loss of words with how cute Steve was.
Steve was loving Eddie’s reaction, he loved every second of it, “I wanted to surprise you. I’ve been thinking about what you said about me looking hot with tattoos, so I thought I would build up the courage and actually get my very first one. I wanted to go with your flying bats tattoo since it’s one of my favourite out of the tattoos you already have. So, I decided on that one. Plus I’m more than happy for this to be my first tattoo since this one will mean the most to me,” he watched as Eddie continued to be starstruck for a few more seconds before looking back up into his eyes.
Pulling him in for a loving kiss, Eddie wraps his arms around Steve’s waist as Steve cups Eddie’s face gently. Both of them kissing for a few seconds before pulling away, with Eddie gently holding his wrist, “I fucking love you so much. I love how your first tattoo is matching with me, you… You make me fall in love with you even more Steve Harrington.” Steve practically awed Eddie with his eyes, Steve couldn't have been asked for a better reaction than it already was, “I love you too baby, I love you so much as well.”
Eddie holds Steve in his lap, as he kept on staring at the tattoo Steve had gotten, he started to wonder if he would start to get more.
“Is this a sign that you maybe could get more?”
“I’ll think about it. I’m surprised I actually built up to getting this first tattoo in the first place.”
“I can already start thinking about you getting more tattoos, imagine how you would look like-”
“Baby! One step at a time.” Steve immediately cuts him off.
Eddie was messing with him, which caused Steve to playfully roll his eyes at him as they both laughed from how cute and clingy they were being with each other. It was everything that Steve could have asked for, he couldn't have asked for anyone else other than Eddie. That’s how much he loved him and how much this first tattoo meant to him.
