Work Text:

Princess Skyla was very excited for her first train ride, her parents never allowed her to go anywhere outside their manor in over protectiveness.

She loved her family, her momma was always caring and her papa taught her all sorts of things when he wasn't at work, she was spoiled but not rotten.

Yet sometimes they slipped, they tried to teach her to look down on people of less money and notable differences. She never listened to them, not once, she found kindness in everyone despite all the things her parents taught her.

They promised her once she turned 21 she could visit outside of missisipi for the first time. So here she was, waiting at the train station with increasing excitement and anxiousness.

The train station buzzed with people, loud conversations from what seemed basically everyone except the blonde woman, she didn't mind, she probably wouldn't be able to hold a conversation with the growing anxiousness inside her.

Don't get her wrong! She was enthusiastic about finally going out of state, but her anxiety was still there, no matter how small or big. She was used to being anxious all the time anyways.

Anxiousness was something that didn't stop for her, her momma said she shouldn't stress so much, that she shouldn't think about stuff that she wasn't included in. Yet it thrummed under her skin, stomach churning and breath hitching ever so slightly, stopping her already shaky voice. Her anxiousness often came in waves..

She shouldn't think about it, it will only make it worse, she learned that the hard way years ago when she was in her pre-teens. She panicked way too often, her mind jumping onto the worst-case scenario at the smallest things.

She didn't register when a man with short curly brown hair turned to her, a surprisingly light smile on his face. "Hello, are you waiting for this train to arrive too?" He said with a thick Italian accent, startling her out of her daydreaming.

"Me?" The woman said, despite the man being clearly turned to her. She didn't wait for a reply, ears turning a muted red from embarassment "Oh- Yes I am, why? Do you need assistance with something..?"

The man didn't falter at her unsure tone, if he even noticed it in the first place. "I just thought it would be good to befriend someone I'm sharing such a long train ride with" he said with a charming smile. "And its not an average person that can afford this kind of ride so casually"

Well yeah.. Trains are quite expensive, even if in the passing years they did become cheaper, and not to mention the price of a train that goes all across Europe. Thats why there were only a handful of people standing in this part of the station. "Thats true, I haven't really talked to anyone since they all seem to have talking groups already made." She said a bit awkwardly.

"Yeah that too.. Well my name is Luigi Algulini, and what might be yours?" The man said with a chuckle, he was awfully kind. Yet another one of her parent's warnings broken, 'don't talk or trust strangers with anything', yet Princess Skyla didn't care as much as she should.

"I'm Princess Skyla.. I'm not a princess its just my first name, Skyla is my middle name." She said with a chuckle, smiling genuiedly for the first time, it was surprisingly easy to fall into a conversation with the man, it was almost addicting in a way, first genuine conversation outside of her family in years and she loved it.

The man giggled along "Well I will treat you like one, a beautiful lady does deserve to be pampered after all" he said in a tone Princess Skyla has never heard before, yet her face reddened despite it, a pink blush decorating her cheeks and ears.

They talked until the train arrived. Princess Skyla looked forward to their next conversation, anxiety forgotten from the second she replied to his first sentence..
