Chapter Text
Princess Skyla looked at the memory of seeing her first dead body in the train with pity. She thought she was getting a relaxing holiday to Europe and finally getting out of her state for the first time. Yet then the train she looked forward to felt like some disgusting torment method. Kept in a cruel time-loop with fuzzy memories, forcing people to kill their acquaintances or even friends.
Her first death was scary yet not as bad as it could've been. She was nauseous, disoriented, feverish and weak. Someone helped her to her room and she died in her sleep. She was poisoned in her first death. Its quite the contrast compared to the people who were shot, stabbed or even pushed off the train. She was lucky her first death happened in her sleep.
People who got poisoned speak how it was torture to be alive, they hallucinated and couldn't move, how they could do nothing but writhe in pain and die. Princess Skyla shivers at the thought of what would happen if they hadn't helped her to her room.. It took her a while to get used to all the killing, even after all that, she still reacts vividly when other people die. How could she not? Its not everyday you see corpses piled up onto eachother and blood filled carpets stinking up the entire train no matter how far away from them you get.
People look at her in pity, understanding, sadness or sometimes even confusion when she breaks down. She remembers when she first saw her beloved Russian Princess Ekaterina on the ground, blood long dryed into the wooden floor she was laying on. Princess Skyla was the one to find her, she broke down, screaming and bawling, hyperventilating even. People tried to calm her down, pulling her away from the corpse of her beloved. She stopped sobbing and calling for her princess only after she was taken to a seperate room, make up long ruined with tears.
Even now after seeing that many dead bodies she still sheds tears at every single one. Its only humane to do, when she shot her first person in self-defense she stood over the girls body hyperventilating until people found her. She did a good job protecting everyone including herself yet she still spent a good hour apologizing into thin air, incase the girl was somehow listening.
She was just talking with princess Ekaterina on one of the open cars, taking in the fresh air of the snowy forest despite the air being half train smoke. She comes out there when she gets dizzy, but then again everyone gets dizzy there. That is what happens when the irony smell of blood spreads thru the entirety of the train, it makes it unbearable to stay in the confined cars.
Princess Skyla was getting tired, she hasn't slept in a good day or so, it was hard to keep up when they don't have anything to track time with, watches seemed to stop working and clocks were only serving as decoration. It also didn't help that the sky never seemed to lighten up no matter the time that passed, so it was hard to tell. You can tell you haven't slept in a while when you start getting drowsy and you start seeing things, its a bit morbid but whatever is keeping them there certainly doesn't care.
She gave the russian princess a peck on the cheek, her own cheeks ever so slightly flushed as she rushes out with a stammered "I'm seeing things... I gotta go now if I don't want to collapse on my way there" pushing past some people as she stumbles slightly with rushed apologies.
"Oh go sleep.. I will find you later Princess Skyla!" The Russian princess said in her thick accent, her cheeks the same rosy colour both from the cold and the unexpected affection as she waved at her. The woman giggled to herself as she turned back to the conversation she was having with the man who came in just a few minutes after the princesses went for fresh air. They have shared a few shy cheek-kisses before but that's as far as they've gotten since their first loop together.
The blonde woman chuckles to herself despite the dizziness, making her way to her room thru the car. Its not like the open car is far from her room, no its quite close actually. Her room is probably the closest one to the left side of the train, which is where she was. She was atleast lucky on that part. She glanced at someone in the hallway, she was far too tired to recognize any faces anyways. Sighing to herself as she took out her keys and slipped into her room, closing the door after herself.
Her room was one of the better ones, even if she had to share it with a few people. A big room with three people is better than a cramped room with two. Her room was probably the best one, it had its own bathroom connected to the room and a big queen bed. Which was a way bigger luxury than the small rooms with one bunk bed. But I guess Princess Skyla wouldn't mind sharing a bunk bed with Princess Ekaterina, even if neither of them have ever slept in one in their entire lives. Maybe it would be fun to try together.
Princess Skyla gives a short scared chuckle to herself, theres too many people in the hallway, and you never know who she might be sharing the room with, that have the key after all.. Or the strength to kick apart a door, but people would hear if something like that happened, right?
She can feel herself getting drowsier, yawning loudly as she walks over to her bed, throwing her keys on her table as she takes off her shoes. Her bed was quite comfortable despite the violent reality of everything.. And she was sure as hell not going to miss out on cushioned sleep in the best room. She let herself lay across the entire bed, and sleep came easily after that.
She woke up to a sharp sting on her side, yelping as she quickly scrambled up into a sitting-position. Deep yet pained breaths were leaving her as she whimpered ever so quietly. Hands hovering over her side yet not quite touching it, her entire side hurt like it has been torn from the inside and she felt her eyes welling up. Then she stopped as she realized what was happening, eyes widening. She has been stung, poisoned from the inside. The hot pain just slowly continued to spread as she got up on her feet and scrambled to the door.
The second she felt her feet touch the carpeted floors of the train hallway she let herself crash into a wall. Her legs were slowly giving out and she can feel every second of it, tears running down her face as she tried to hold herself up with shaking hands. The people in the hallway weren't paying attention to her, she felt as if she was invisible. Until she heard that familiar Russian voice, now seeping with worry and shock in its own way. She opened her eyes despite the pain and threw herself on her beloved, loud wails mixed with pained whimpers leaving her raw throat.
"I-i'm gonna die.! I was poisoned in my sleep, oh god I'm gonna die..!!" The blonde woman bawled loudly while clinging onto the Russian with all the strength she had left in her failing arms. She felt the woman's hands on her waist, holding her up carefully yet strongly, as if she was holding the most precious gem the world has to offer.. In the Russian's mind, she was worth way more than measly jewels or dear netherite.. She was worth everything.
The Russian woman was visibly panicking despite trying to calm down for the sake of the woman hyperventilating in her arms. "No, shh...shhh You're not gonna die sweetheart." The Russian princess wanted to believe her own words, but she caught herself hesitating ever so slightly. The woman took a deep breath as she quickly turned her head to the growing crowd.
Pale hands rubbing the crying womans waist and shhh-ing her cries. "Where's the doctor?! Go get the doctor, she's been stung with poison in her sleep!" The Russian yelled while trying to keep herself calm. She hasn't talked to the doctor that much, damnit she wasn't even sure he was a real doctor, but he should know the basics.. Right??
About the blonde...she wasn't looking good, she has just barely calmed down since the Russian started holding her. She wasn't hyperventilating anymore, just loudly sobbing and whining in pain. It pained princess Ekaterina to see the blonde like this. Shivering despite the warmth of the hallway and leaning into the princess's satin green dress. The dress has been stained by tears and flowing makeup, but thats the least of her worries.
The brunette let out a string of russian curses under her breath as the princess in her arms started gasping for air. She carefully sat down on the ground and placed the princess in her lap, holding her tight enough to feel comfort yet not tight enough to cause her more pain. Her skin was getting unbearably pale and sick, pained whines leaving her at every little move she does.
"Oh god, I'm gonna die.. It hurts... Ekterina it hurts so bad.." The woman cries out, clinging closer to the Russian princess. Her body feels like its boiling from the inside, she doesn't feel her side anymore due to the sheer pain. Everything aches and she can't open her eyes, ears ringing. She listens to the brunette talk, despite not making out words, that precious voice is enough for her. She let's herself fall into the pain.
