Chapter 1: gay men dont know theyre gay

Chapter Text

Wake up…
Go to the gym with Matt…
Work…
Go home…

The routine was always the same for Guest1337, except for the growing rift between him and Daisy that was starting to shake the foundation of this routine.
‘Maybe it'll all resolve eventually… I shouldn't dwell on it too long, I suppose’ He thought to himself. He arrived at the gym, turning off the car to wait in the parking lot for Matt to arrive.

Alone with his thoughts, he kept circling back to what felt like walls he worked so hard to build crumbling down.

“Earth to Gueeeeeest. Helloooo?-” Matt was waving his hand in front of Guests's face, attempting to grab his attention.

“Oh- sorry, man, zoned out for a bit,” Guest responded, chuckling whilst trying to shake off that feeling of dread. He and Matt bantered back and forth whilst they walked up to the gym doors, occasionally laughing and joking with each other. Once inside, they had a quick talk with the receptionist to check in.

“Alright, shall we start with the usual sets today?” Matt questioned, stretching as they both walked further into the establishment.

“Mhm, I don't see a reason not to,” Guest replied, only half paying attention. The gym trip progressed as usual, each Robloxian doing their weight sets.

Just as they were finishing up, Matt started messing around with the equipment. “Quit it, man- You're either going to get hurt or get us kicked out,” Guest chastised.

“Hey, I'm not doin’ nothin’ crazy! It'll be fineee-” Matt barely finished his sentence before he tripped and fell over a large piece of equipment. If he had been wearing sweatpants, he would've been fine, but unfortunately, he was wearing gym shorts. His right shin was scraped over the equipment, causing him to start bleeding.

“What did I tell you?” Guest sighed, “Cmon. Let's go to the back and get ch'ya cleaned up. I'll run out to my truck and grab my first aid kit.”

“Alright, I'll wait for you,” Matt said as he looked a bit abashed. After Guest ran to his truck and grabbed his first aid kit, he went back to a bench Matt was sitting on near the back of the establishment. Guest knelt, placing the first aid on the bench next to him, and started examining Matt's scrape.

“What are you, a medical professional?” Matt laughed, finding Guest’s amount of care amusing. “Oh, shush. I'm just trying to make sure you aren't hurting,” Guest chuckled as he replied. He held Matt's shin in one hand, while the other hand held a pain relief cream and bandages. He worked slowly, intently listening to Matt talk about whatever came to mind.

The moment was soft, warm… Oddly comforting compared to the inner turmoil earlier. Guest finished up patching Matt's leg, and they decided to head out. Matt continued talking about whatever, with Guest occasionally answering a question or responding with “Mhm”, “Oh yeah,” etc. when needed to keep the conversation rolling. It was quite nice for a while, until they had to split up and head home so they could get ready for work.

Guest drove home in his truck, his mind starting to be cloudy and dull. It was always like this. It was like his mind just wanted to shut down. He progressed through his day, per usual, work… lunch break… work… then home. When he got home, Daisy was playing with Charlotte.

“Welcome home,” Daisy waved to Guest as he walked through the door.

“Thank you. You and Charlotte already eat?” Guest questioned. “Mhm, there are leftovers in the fridge you can reheat,” Daisy replied. Guest nodded, simply going to reheat dinner for himself. The distant feeling is one he just couldn't shake… hopefully it wasn't anything too serious.

I: (Heheh…. >:3)

—Matt's POV—
Matt finally got home after a long day of work, being left alone with his thoughts and able to think about this morning with Guest. ‘Man…. He is always so good to me….’ Matt thought to himself, his mind swirling. Every detail about Guest just made his heart flutter. From how he intently listens to how he cares for everyone, even strangers, like they’re family. He was absolutely head over heels for this man… his ‘best friend’.... how idiotic if him. He knows Guest is straight, hell, he even has a wife! Yet he still can't help but love the guy.

I: (I mean lowkey who doesn't?-)

A: (ok this is the editor NOT the person who wrote this, i agree, who doesnt love guest, hes just a scrunkly. mhm a scrunkly yeah that fits him)

Matt pressed his hand to his face, “Why must my heart do this to me…” he groaned, knowing he was as hopeless as a lost puppy. That aside, he did notice how Guest had been a bit off lately. It was like a near whole mood change. Guest was quieter, reserved… even… tired? Maybe he was fighting with Daisy, but that seemed unlikely. Oh well, he'd have to ask him about it another time. Maybe he could ask him tomorrow when they go to the gym together.

— Time skip; The Next Day —

Matt pulled up into the parking lot, noticing that Guest wasn't there. He frowned, his brow furrowing. Normally, Guest was always early. It wasn't like him to be late to any event, even if it was just daily gym trips. He checked his phone, seeing how Guest hadn't texted him anything yet. He sent a simple message,
‘You alright, man? I'm waiting for you at the gym.’

He waited for about five minutes, the text not even being read. Alright, something was seriously wrong- but what could that be? One day he was ‘fine’, the next he wasn't at the gym nor responding to texts. Matt gripped the steering wheel of his old Toyota (I: yes, bro really drives a Toyota. Don't ask why), contemplating driving over to Guest and Daisy's house. Unfortunately, before he decided, time had slipped away faster than he thought. Soon enough, he had to go to his daily job. Maybe he'd see Guest tomorrow.

— Time skip; two days afterwards —

Alright, something was really wrong. Guest hadn't responded to any texts Matt sent, nor had he shown up to the gym at all. Maybe Guest was ghosting him? But why would he do that?

….

Matt was on his way home from work when his phone dinged. He quickly took it out, checking his messages. Guest had finally responded, albeit it was just one short sentence:

‘Sorry man, I am a bit busy with some personal problems at the moment, might be unavailable for a bit.’

..

Wow…

Three days of being ghosted just to be sidelined by his (I: one true love) ‘best friend’. Matt sighed, knowing Guest probably needed space. It still stung a bit, nonetheless. What could have possibly happened to Guest that caused this?

—Guest's POV—

Daisy sat on the other side of the table, pen in hand. She was signing papers diligently. Guest somberly signed the papers he had in his hands, mind clouded, brain foggy. The feeling of dread had taken deep root in him, and the papers he was signing weren't helping… maybe this was just how it was meant to be.

A: haha papers wonder what those could be, right guys? dw no angst here just lovely daisy/guest 1337 fluff
