Chapter Text
The battlefield was choked with smoke and despair. Dark Enchantress Cookie stood triumphant, the Soul Jams glittering in her grasp. The Ancient Heroes had fallen to their knees; hope itself seemed to wither beneath her shadow.
And then—
Pure Vanilla Cookie stepped forward.
The healer who always fought from the back, the one who shielded others with gentle light, now stood at the very front. A radiant barrier bloomed around his comrades.
“PURE VANILLA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Hollyberry roared, hammering her fists against the shimmering forcefield. Without her Soul Jam or shield, she could do nothing but watch.
Pure Vanilla’s voice was calm, resolute. “Forgive me.”
He lifted his staff. Dark light gathered at its tip. Impossible, forbidden.
Gasps broke across the battlefield. Even Dark Enchantress faltered, shock flashing in her crimson eyes. Their magics collided, a cataclysm of light and shadow. The explosion ripped the Soul Jams from her grip, scattering them across Earthbread.
When the dust cleared, Pure Vanilla was gone.
He fell into the void. Endless, soundless. No air, no ground, only the hollow rush of falling.
Then a voice, vast and gentle, filled the emptiness:
“You are not ready to return. I will send you where you may rest, until the time comes.”
He closed his eyes. Feeling the cold embrace of the void.
Until a voice interrupted the Light of Truth itself.
