Watching you sleep, Gentle Beard
I sit here as you sleep, being on guard just to keep you safe, my dear.
As it’s my duty after having caught you in my net, you pretty thing with a very soft beard.
A merman, the one for me, at least that is what I hope, but the future remains to be seen.
At least that’s what you promised me, when our gazes locked the moment I got you caught, not anything I really had sought, but melting my heart you did in that very moment.
As it was never my intention to catch such a beauty or to keep you all to myself, but the moment we met I fell hard for you my love, as you did for me, the words spoken between us, the lingering glances and touches telling of the same.
My gentle merman of the seas you be, me just a simple pirate all the while sailing the seven seas, never the one to harm anyone, despite my profession seem as bleak.
And as you gave me your heart with the promise to stay on board never mind it being hard, I could not have been happier or luckier than any man on this earth.
We two are making it due. You my sweet merman, sleeping in the tub filled with water and me mostly standing guard.
And sometimes, just sometimes, you sneak into my bed. The two of us snuggling under the warm blankets, together, holding onto each other tight.
As different as we two just might seem, it does not matter as love does not hate the very different.
And so, during those times I know, there is nothing more I would ask from life except you my Gentle Beard by my side, the merman of my very dreams. My life to be oh so divine.
