Treating with Love and Care

Summary:

Peter felt Daredevil should be gentler with his dog. Yelling and threatening aren't good methods.

Notes:

I just have to do it. I love you Frank, for real😳 Oh and English is not my first language, forgive me for my poor grammar. Hope you still enjoy it! Kudos and comments are always welcome :)))

Work Text:

“Frank, no!”

Peter heard Daredevil yelled.

“Drop it, just drop it!”

Another one. Okay, huh...didn’t know when did Daredevil got a dog. But honestly, who took their dog to street fight? That’s dangerous, the dog—Frank, apparently it’s his name—might got hurt and that would be sad.

Peter flipped down to the rooftop to join Daredevil.

“Hey, DD, you um, where’s your dog?”

Daredevil slightly tilted his head, “My dog?”

“Yeah, I heard you yell at him.”

“I’m not...it’s nothing. Let’s focus on the job, alright?”

“Yep. Sure. I’ll take the right and you take the left?”

“Sounds great.” A small smile tugged on Daredevil’s lips.

The second time Peter stumbled upon Daredevil educating Frank, Peter started to worry about animal abuse.

“Frank, no! I told you no killing!”

Peter was on the brick wall when he heard it from the back alley. Maybe Frank was chasing down a rat or a squirrel?

"Do I need to tie you down or lock you up? Is that what you want?"

Oh no. That’s bad.

Peter decided to get off the wall and talk to Daredevil about how to train your dog with love and care.

“Where’s Frank?” Peter looked around, there was only one unconscious man lying on the ground with a bloody nose.

“Ran. Help me web this man and drop him at the station?” Daredevil nudged the man on the ground with his foot.

“Sure, why?”

“He’s one of the guy who robbed the bank last week.”

Peter nodded, webbing the guy up, “I meant to tell you...well, I um, if you need some help with Frank, I’d love to give you a hand. Also, I think it’s better to train your dog with love and care, you know, they have feelings too. Animals, I mean. Especially dogs. They’re man’s best friend.”

“I’ll...yeah. See you around, kid.” Daredevil climbed up the fire escape, disappearing into the night.

“Not a kid! I’m a man!” Peter shouted after him. Darn it. He hoped the Devil had heard him about treating animals with love and care.

"Back the fuck off, Frank."

By the third time, Peter was ready. He acted fast, swinging in and landing on the rooftop right between Daredevil and Frank.

“Wait!” Peter yelled.

“Not another suited clown.” A grumpy voice grumbled, low and husky.

“Manners, Frank.” Daredevil chastised under his breath.

Peter dropped his jaw, “You’re—he’s—I thought—um, Frank, any chance you’re a shapeshifter or got bit by a radioactive dog?”

Daredevil bit his lip to hold back a laugh.

“Fuck no. What the fuck?” Frank groaned.

“DD never said you were human. He led me on!” Peter is grateful he has his mask on, this is embarrassing.

“Well done, Red. Pranking a kid like that.” Frank rolled his eyes.

“Not a kid.” Peter mumbled.

“I did no such thing.” Daredevil was still smiling.

“Okay, alright, this one’s on me. Sorry. It’s just the way he yells at you, you know? It’s confusing.” Peter held up his hands in surrender, “I’m gonna...go. Yeah. Bye DD! Bye Frank!”

After that, Peter didn’t hear Daredevil disciplining Frank again. Well, not in public anyway... Huh, the more you think about it, the more...nope. That was way beyond his jurisdiction. Absolutely not.
