“You know,” Marc said as they handed his favorite customer his usual drink, “I happen to like my men like I like my ale.”
Nathaniel laughed, a touch awkward but moreso curious. Before he could inquire further, the voice of Marc’s coworker, Marinette, came. “Don’t let him fool you! Marc doesn’t drink!”
Nathaniel just rolled his eyes, accustomed to Marc and Marinette’s antics. “And how do you like those two, Marc?”
Marc gave Nathaniel a grin utterly unfitting for his job at Down To Beansness, and uttered one word that was enough to make his face match his hair. “Ginger.”
