Chapter Text
Ivan slowly walked up those stairs, “make a name for yourself” is all he could hear, not even his own thoughts, he felt like a disappointment to his father, himself, his mother, most importantly, Andrew.
After an hour, he opened the rooftop door. He only felt the cold breeze of winter air, other than that, nothing. He walked to the ledge, making a moment to look at the set of two chairs and a table. It felt not long ago that he and Andrew were there, sitting, talking, enjoying eachothers company, but now there was a cold, dead, empty feeling, Ivan fucked up. This is all his fault, “Make a name for yourself”, a sentence kept on repeat like a scratched up record.
Ivan stood on that ledge, ready to make that name for himself, finally to make his father proud, himself proud even, finally to make-
“Ivan…?”
Andrew muttered…. Wait… no… what?
Why is he here? Andrew is ruining everything again.
“Ivan,” Andrew came closer to Ivan. Ivan didn’t speak, the words in his head rushed in like several feet of snow overnight, a slow buildup, but a very prominent one.
“IVAN!” Andrew screamed as he grabbed Ivan by his shoulders.
“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?” Andrew said, his breath shakes, his eyes tearing up. Ivan stood there wondering (“ doesn’t he hate me.. why is he continuing to ruin my life.”) “I just… I just needed air Andrew… why are you here?” Ivan said, his throat hoarse, presumably from crying.
“Don’t lie to my face Ivan, and stop changing the subject, why. Are. You. Here?” Andrew said with both anger and fear in his voice, his demeanor seemed angry, which he had every right to be, Ivan leaked his game and abused him throughout their friendship, but his face showed concern, fear, for his ex friend, yet, despite this, Ivan persisted,
“No, why are you here, is something wrong Andrew?” Ivan said in a fake concerned tone, trying to brush off his obvious intention.
Andrew hits Ivan, not a punch like last time, but a small slap to his shoulder, to try and get Ivan to understand that he isn’t joking,
“I’m not fucking stupid Ivan, I just saw you try to kill yourself and now you brush it off? Are you insane??” Andrew says, clearly agitated.
“C’mon, we’re going to talk this over in your apartment. You have to.” Andrew demands. Ivan, having no other choice, complies.
The two walk down the stairs carefully, as Ivan looks like he’s going to pass out. They get to his room, 406, and sit down on the couch, after Ivan turns off the stove, and blows out that candle.
