The man asked him if he could read a poem to him, and even though he agreed he still seemed to not be able to help himself and gave him a not so nice remark.
"That was a sad poem you know.. Maybe don't read it again."
To him it could sound normal at first but.. Was it really?aka: Mikhail thinks of the conversation he had with Yesenin during the day.

He had to get his mind off it all, and he decided to do something he had not done in literal years, he wasn't really in the mood for that because of the cataclysm, if depression didn't play a role, but he was desperate to stop thinking about it and instead at least try to feel something nice in this hell of a world. -

It had been several days, maybe weeks or even months since the homeowner had let people into his house and locked himself in the basement with them, he honestly couldn't remember and the dates didn't matter to him enough to dwell on it too long. All he could really care about was "when will it end? If it ever willl." and so he glanced at one guest in particular, maybe a bit too often, as if to not go insane. The man couldn't understand him, but maybe that's why he was so comfortable around him, even more so than he wanted to admit.

Summary
After a long year of tribulations, Toshio's finally found his fire again, and he'll be damned if he lets Seishin leave him alone again this time.
"
Run run run and don't ever let me catch you Seishin, thinks Toshio, for then I will have to end this chase and kill you. And I care for you far too much to ever do that.
"
A year after Sotoba and every sickening deed within it burns to the ground finds Toshio in deep misery. Though he tries his hardest, he doesn't have the leads or resources to find Seishin and Sunako. Things turn around for Toshio when he gets attacked by a Shiki that he doesn't recognize from the village people. He realizes that whoever must have sired Sunako must have had other sires or had not been alone in their condition. Purpose reignited, he decides to become a Shiki hunter, leaving the one who'd attacked him alive to follow them to other Shiki. It's this way that he tracks down Seishin again.(A short AU where Toshio finds Seishin and Sunako again, can be read as platonic or romantic Toshio/Seishin.)
