He looks around as he climbs off of the… bed?
He’s in a bedroom. The bed is big enough to hold at least a few prop all at once, with silk sheets and soft pillows. The sheets are an opulent red, richer than velvet, but the sight of it just reminds Avery of blood. The drapes around the bed are a golden color that shifts under the light from a large window, and Avery knows immediately that he’ll escape through there.
The sight of forget-me-nots in gold and white vases on the bedside tables makes Avery feel dizzy. He can practically feel the weight of them on his hands, heavier than any sword or promise.
Avery glances down at his hands, and he’s surprised to find a robe draped against his skin. It’s the same golden color as the bed curtains.

Or; Avery is brought to the King in Yellow’s new kingdom. Avery’s not ready to live like this, but he’s not given a single option in it. And the King is ready to prove that to him. However he sees is fit.

Summary
Andrew was more than ready to move on. If anything, he was relieved. He had packed his boxes nights earlier, filled his car with gas, and readied himself to leave the absolute clusterfuck that had been the last few months of his life behind. The plan was going well, until an innocuous item leads him back to the place where it all began, Ivan's apartment- or more accurately, where it all ended.
There, confronted by his own past and the horrific circumstances of Ivan's actions and his subsequent suicide attempt- Andrew is forced to come to terms with what's happened between the two of them- and arrive at the haunting realization that maybe... just maybe... the two of them are linked in ways neither of them could’ve imagined.
