"Scarlet Clouds" was a modern vampire drama, with elements of mystery and romance in it. It focused on Xiao Zhan, a scientist who loses his humanity to find a cure for his brother's mysterious sickness. In the process he ends up dwelling into the world of vampires and in the middle of their politics, which endangers the people he loves. Lan Wangji fell in love with the concept and writing the second he got his hands on it. The fact that it'd been rumored that Wei Wuxian would be playing the lead had also helped his choice to take the offer.
There had just been one problem with this: Lan Wangji could not smell, feel or see anything that resembled large amounts of blood without fainting.

Lan Wangji is in a bit of a pickle of his own making. He tents to faint at the slighest hint of blood. Which is a problem when acting in a vampire drama. A smart person would ask for help, but Lan Wangji can't. Not if he wants to impress Wei Ying, his co-star and crush. Who happens to be a horror movie legend.
This can only end well.
