Summary
When Light first presented, his life became hell. Not because of his own uncontrolled hormones, urges or ruts, or his changing body—no. It was his sharper sense of smell. He could smell everything now—and everyone.
His alpha peers always gloated about just how horny omega scents made them, or how good omegas smelled—but Light never understood. While, sure, they smelled nice, they were all way too strong for Light to enjoy in any capacity. He had to start taking medication to dull his over-sensitivity, but even then, it never fully went away.
And so, Light worked through his aversion when he needed to. Forced himself to go out with various omega women—dating them, kissing them, fucking them. Not that he really enjoyed it—but it was almost like a weird sort of ritual of control for Light. It made him feel normal, in a way, and like he was proving a feat of mental strength by forcing himself through it.
He got pretty good at not only acting out this lie of normalcy, but living it. He’d almost convinced himself.
And then, he got chained to a detective who's smell he could actually tolerate.
