Summary
Yagami Light thinks he's got his whole life under control. His plans for the future, his hold over his classmates and family. Until the day that notebook falls from the sky: The Death Note. It derails all of his plans, but Light isn't an alpha to give up control of his life. He obsesses, lets the Death Note consume his every waking thought. When he graduates high school and enters To-Oh University, he meets the famous detective L at the opening ceremony. From there, Light feels out of control. But he doesn't give up easy- and, fortunately, neither does L.

Light’s lips quirked into a contorted mix of a smirk and a frown. “You smell weird, is all. Not in a bad way, just… not like usual. It wouldn’t be a big deal if it weren’t so distracting,” he admitted, not sure why he was being so honest. It almost sounded vulgar. Light side-eyed L as he mentally prepared for his reproach, or at least some sort of reaction. However, all L did was spit out his toothpaste, washing the minty fluid down the sink.
L sighed. “It’s just… hormones, from being stressed and sleep deprived. It’s not like I’m in… heat, or something. I’m a beta. Light-kun knows this. He has no reason to worry about me."
... In which L spends the majority of his life hiding the fact that he's an omega, until the stress of the Kira case and close proximity to a certain alpha makes him slip up.
