Watch Me Set Your World On Fire

Summary:

It’s been three months since Gwi-Ma was finally defeated at the Namsan Tower. And he’s disappeared from the demon world as well, leaving behind an unlikely heir in his wake: Jinu, the fallen leader of the Saja Boys.

Jinu is alive… barely… and only because the rest of the Sajas gave their souls to save him.
But their sacrifice isn’t turning out exactly how they wanted it to, and they’re torn between keeping their hyeong alive and saving themselves.

As new bonds are forged and broken, the Sajas and the Hunters must all decide whose side they are finally willing to stand on… and no action comes without consequence.

Here’s KPop Demon Hunters 2 as I’d like it to be! POV will alternate between the five Sajas and the three Hunters.

This is my first fic ever and a crack at post-canon of the movie I’m totally obsessed with.

Credit for the Saja Boys’ original names and inspiration for their backstories goes to jaanaur_AK and their AMAZING “The Song They Couldn’t Write”! TYSM!

Notes:

Most or all of the chapter titles will come from songs, whether KPDH ones or other favs of mine.

TWs/CWs: violence, death, some sexual content, suicidal thoughts, mentions of alcoholism/family troubles/divorce/abuse.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Your Idol

Chapter Text

Jinu opened his golden eyes, smirked, and stood up from the throne.

Below him, beyond the cliff in all directions, stretched a seemingly infinite crowd of demons.

They were his subjects now.

Which hadn’t been what he’d wanted, exactly… but Jinu had worn a mask all these long years. Surely he could keep it on for another five minutes.

He stood as straight and tall as he could. Arched one eyebrow arrogantly as he looked down at the hordes.

”I am your king now,” he said, injecting a cocktail of sinister charisma and royal smugness into his voice.

“Gwi-Ma has chosen me to rule over you. To go against me would be to go against him - and you all know what happens when you cross Gwi-Ma.”

There. The demonic blood coursing through his veins forced his voice to the farthest reaches of the realm, and every demon shrunk in fear at his words.

Jinu smirked again, his eyes flashing. He returned to his throne, casting a bored look out into space, wishing they would all leave and stop staring at him.

Not a very kingly thought, he knew.

Ah well. He would get the hang of it.
