Chapter Text
Soft quilts of a soothing pink, on a rather large bed.
Pictures on the pink, unicorn-and-rainbow-printed walls of friends and happy memories (Why are they all turned over?).
A small table in the corner of the room with chairs, perfect for tea parties and gossip.
Shelves for books about magic, or perhaps for stuffed animals and dolls.
It was the perfect room for a little girl.
Only, the room didn't belong to a little girl.
It belonged to Jax.
He hated it.
~
Jax was spending more and more time alone in his dimly-lit room. He laid on the annoyingly cutesy bed, staring up at the ceiling. He had learned to ignore the circus' attempt to taunt him with unicorns on the walls; so long as no one else saw it.
As if that was a worry.
No one dared to bother him, and for good reason. Jax had a tendency to cause problems for his own enjoyment, whether it'd be shoving them over, rigging their rooms with bombs or bugs, or blackmailing them.
The whole shabang.
Who would care for a guy like him?
Pomni.
Jax squeezed his eyes shut, he refused to be reminded of--
"I'm learning a lot about you, today!"
Stop it.
"Oh we make such a good team!"
No, not now.
Please.
She had hugged him.
When was the last time?
Hugged.
Tight.
Genuine.
Team.
Friends.
"We were never friends!"
Pomni.
Not her. Please.
He didn't want to hurt anymore.
He had pushed her away.
Pomni
He got too close.
He would lose her.
Just like he did Ribbit
"We were never friends!"
She was the only one who tried to see who he was, beneath the "Funny guy" facade; and he pushed that away.
"There's nothing more to me. So please, just stop looking."
~
Jax opened his eyes, with a hollow sigh. He was still in bed, with the stupid pink quilts, in his dimly-lit room. It had been a while. No one had checked up on him since then. Sometimes, he would close his eyes, and hope the quiet darkness would consume him for a while.
Although these days, forever didn't sound bad either.
No one cared about him anymore, all he did was torment them.
Pomni must hate him now.
They would all be better off without him.
