“Dude, you know that if your mom finds out I’m in your bed, I’m never staying over again, right?”
It’s a fair question, Kris thinks. A perfectly reasonable worry. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to deter them from the allure of Susie cuddles. They peel the sheets back a little further, revealing their fuzzy socks. Scandalous.
“She won’t,” they say, with all too much confidence. “‘sides, it’s cold out. We gotta… share body heat.”
Susie smirks, sitting on the side of Kris’s bed. It’s a dark, moonless night, the only light coming from the many light-up stars above Asriel’s bed and the Susie Award hung proudly above Kris’s. “It’s the middle of summer, dumbass.”
“Then you can absorb all my body heat. Isn’t that s’posed to be good for lizards?”
“Yeah, sure, and all your sweat too.”
Kris grabs at Susie’s arm resting on their bed, pulls her softly until she’s leaned back, nose nuzzled to Kris’s. “You stay here, you can chew on my hair all night. Fresh washed.”
At that Susie finally shifts her full weight onto Kris’s bed, the mattress and frame creaking with the force of a second person flopping down.
Part of them wants to warn her to move more cautiously, to not wake Toriel, but another part of them recalls the way the town talked, after Asriel had been caught during Spin the Bottle, how suddenly his love life was everyone’s business.
Kris didn’t mind the consequences, if it meant everyone knew Susie was theirs. And so they circled their arms around her waist, pulled her close, didn’t bother to muffle their laughter as she takes a mouthful of their hair and then bites their cheek for good measure, too. They’d rather get caught, they think, than to ever let her go again.
