Summary
"Don't go," Akira outright begs, tilting his chin down to bury his face in the warm crook between Akechi's shoulder and neck. Warm and undeniably alive, Akira despairs internally, something he'll never be again if tomorrow is successful.
"Don't.. Don't make this harder than it has to be, Akira." Goro whispers back, his resolve firm but voice quivering. The words go unspoken, as they often do, but Akira reads between the blurred lines and ink stains of red and understands immediately. His heart sinks impossibly further into his chest, and he clutches the one boy he'd destroy the world for closer.
How ironic, that he would finally find a reason to live only after he had died.
