Chapter Text
George POV
Everyone has that one problem.
The kind that keeps showing up no matter how many times you try to get rid of it, even if you try being humble, it stays there.
Mine had a golden crown.
On a small server me and my friend made was where I first saw him, well.. not really small now. It grown fast, players piling up in the server like papers on a teacher's desk. It was peaceful, sure.. until— he came.
But like everyone, every pesky problem will end in any way. Maybe you decided to end your hatred for the problem, maybe the problem stopped or the problem decided to apologize.
For me (and dream), the pesky problem died.
Technoblade died. From an illness.
It wasn't from the past attempts of killing him, sure, but it was enough.
It should have been enough.
It should've brought peace to the SMP.
But that wasn't the case. Not here.
The kingdom hadn't celebrated. Nobody had cheered. The world had simply kept moving, as if the death of one of its most feared figures was just another event to write into history. Why?
For some people, it wasn't enough.
For Dream, it wasn't enough.
That's what triggered this meeting.
"So that's it?" Quackity argued, hands gripping on the table.
Nobody answered.
Dream looked around the room. The silence was an answer enough for everyone.
Technoblade's dead.
And that seems like no one was satisfied with the information.
"That's it. We shouldn't escalate the drama." I explained, hands crossed over my chest as I stopd beside Dream.
"But how about the stuff he done to those innocent players?! Look at what he done to my fucking eye!"
Quackity's defense came out of anger, pointing at his scarred eye. Legend says that Techno knocked his teeth (and his eyesight on his left eye and cause a brutal scar on his face) with a pickaxe. He didn't need to do all that just to flex his skills, in my opinion.
"Watch your language, Quackity!" Badboyhalo warned, hand rubbing on his temples.
"Besides, we don't need to chase after him now. He's dead now." The demon continued.
"True, besides we have nothing to avenge your eye. It's your issue to not see that coming, dude." Sapnap teased, purposely making the duck fume in rage.
"Sapnap.. let's not drag the drama!"
Bad hissed, voice steady, the sudden defense allowing Quackity's smirk to reappear.
"He lacks skill, sure," and lost once again. "But the thing that Techno done was uncalled, even for a muffin like him."
"Wow, thanks for the help. Really appreciated it." The mexican sarcastically replied, rolling his eyes.
"Can we stop talking about Quackity? He's not the main topic and he shouldn't be." Skeppy sighed, fuming the mentioned male like he wasn't mad 2 times this day and had to fill in.
Quackity's day is just getting worse.
"True, not that I hate Quackity but we're talking about something much more important." Tubbo agreed.
"Oh, so I'm not important?" Quackity's teeth clenched, pouting playfully.
"No, that's not—" "yea. Kinda."
Sapnap interrupted Tubbo, sat inappropriately and un-mannered.
"Sapnap, shut up. Mouth shut, for now, okay?" Philza scolded, voice humble.
Sapnap chuckled to the scolding, raising his hands up in mock-surrender. "But you have to hear me out.."
"SAPNAP."
Bad exclaimed, clearly growing mad.
"What? Don't tell me you guys actually wouldn't throw him in a fire when you could." An audible offended gasp from Quackity was heard.
Bad tried opening his mouth to defend but only closed it. He would actually throw the Mexican in a fire when needed.
"i mean, you guys would probably—"
"shut it." Dream hissed, finally speaking. finally. i thought he died for a second.
"This isn't the reason why I established this meeting. it isn't about you or Quackity. Got it?"
The meeting grew silent after Dream's statement, the only thing that was heard was the soft breeze of the wind as everyone (in the meeting) nodded.
"George. keep explaining." He called.
I kept silent for a moment, clearing my throat.
"as I was saying, Technoblade's already dead. How are we supposed to take revenge on—"
"Wrong."
The blonde blatantly stated. Dude. This man wanted me to continue my previous topic and he'll just interrupt me? Talk about disrespect.
"There's still a way." Now that's interesting.
"But how?" Ranboo raised a brow. "I don't think there's anyone we could kill after burning his base and his animals."
"There is." The masked male defended.
"You guys know I mostly fight with him, yes?"
Everyone nodded. How is that connected?
"One time when we were fighting, Technoblade mentioned someone. someone important to him," he started, tapping his finger on the table.
"Who?" I asked.
"He didn't mention his name."
"Then what was his relation to Techno?"
A beat passed before Dream replied, "a brother."
The room fell silent.
A brother?
Technoblade never seemed like the type to talk about family or care for anyone.
Actually, Technoblade barely talked about anything personal at all.
"A brother?" Skeppy repeated.
"Since when did Technoblade have a brother?"
This didn't seem right.
"How are you so sure he wasn't lying?" I asked, skeptical.
"Technoblade never lied about the people he cared about."
If Technoblade really had a younger brother, where was he?
Was he hiding?
Did he know Technoblade was dead?
Did he even care?
Wait.
Why is he bringing this up?
I know that's a shocking information but why was it needed?
Then it clicked.
"wait, you're—"
"Tubbo, prepare the others. we have someone to hunt."
Now it was all clear.
Why he suddenly talked about it.
The younger brother of the bloodthirsty player.
It wasn't for a sudden gossip conversation. Never that.
Dream was now out for revenge and..
...
The target wasn't Technoblade anymore.
It was his brother.
A brother.
Not a warrior.
Not a king.
Not a revolutionary.
Just a brother.
For some reason, that felt worse.
