Truthfully, it’s hard to say who is more surprised to find the research ship the Bangtan and her crew had been sent to assess for potential repairs or salvage- the 3P1PH4NY; presumed abandoned after several solar cycles of unsuccessful contact with any of the crew aboard- isn’t as abandoned as any of them had first presumed.
a.) The crew of the Bangtan, expecting to find an empty research ship.
b.) One Kim Seokjin, lone survivor of an unexpected solar storm, blissfully living in a state of dissociation and dubious mind-wipes to stay sane.Either way, the crew of the Bangtan are determined to rescue Seokjin. Even if Seokjin, putting it politely, disagrees.
