It was nearly midnight when Jack shoved his way through the sliding doors of the Pitt, Callie slumped limply in his arms. Her face clammy, pale and hot against his shoulder. She whimpered when the cold air hit her, curling tighter into her dads chest.
Jack’s heart was hammering, a million miles an hour. “Hang on baby,” he whispered into her curls. “I’ve got you, sweetheart”
Santos looked up from her desk, where she was charting. “Dr Abbot… Who’s kid is that?” She asked, confused,
Jack didn’t slow down, “I need a room. Now.”
Mel stood there, and blinked, “Is she yours? Do you have a daughter?”
”Santos.” Jack snapped, voice breaking. “Get me a room now. Somethings wrong.”
