Work Text:
O being of beauty,
How bright your skin does shine
To these glaring eyes of mine
O being of beauty
Whose hair was made like fine silk,
Your voice does truly flow like milk
O being of grand beauty
Whose eyes and smile and cries and style
Order to my beguilement
O being of prettiness
Whose words are so humorous,
Whose voice has cracked,
My laughter, my joy, is innumerous,
But that you are divine is not fact.
O being
My heart aches,
And my soul breaks,
For you do not admire me
As I have admired you.
O being of prettiness or beauty or grand beauty
Why have you neglected my calls?
Come quickly to me, before night falls.
O being
I have admired you
Yet nothing of what you will
I will ever recall with thrill,
As it has dismissed my calls to you,
Yet that was the beautiful you,
The beautiful you whom I loved,
So perhaps I am just a being too.
