Everything had turned rather topsy-turvy in Goodsprings, ever since the arrival of Martha Jones. Well, it had gotten weird when Ringo showed up, but that grew exponentially when the woman woke up in Doc Mitchell’s house.
The Doc said she’d collapsed, but he wasn’t sure why. Some strange event.
Martha, who was also a Doctor, said it was ‘Rift Sickness’. None of them were quite sure what she meant by that, and she hadn’t truly explained it, just said that she’d been at home, and then woken up in the Mojave, hearing a gunshot.
She’d been asking after the man in the checkered suit, apparently his bullet had been the last thing she saw before collapsing?
Victor and the Doc had assumed it was a gunshot wound, at first, but she had nothing that suggested that. It was as if the bullet had vanished.
Then again, people disappeared around Nipton, if the caravans were to be believed, so maybe that truly had happened to Martha?
Then, the Powder Gangers attacked. Martha had spoken to all the townspeople, convincing them of their worth, telling stories, before she went and spoke to Cobb. No one was quite sure how she managed it, but she convinced him to leave. To strike a deal with Goodsprings.
Then, she left. Following the trail of the man in the checkered suit.
Sunny couldn’t help but miss her.
