Work Text:
Veronica never stopped thinking about Delilah. Whenever she closed her eyes she could still see the blood, the corpses of the hunters they had both seen as family intermingling with the shifting sands of the Mojave. Delilah said she did it to be with Veronica forever. Veronica wished she’d killed her then and there.
She hadn’t. It was a mistake to not. Veronica knew that now. At the time, she’d been grieving. Now, it was her mission to hunt Delilah down. To kill her, so she couldn’t kill anyone else.
To repent for not being able to save them all.
