   Summary

   If placing her best friend into a coffin hurtling out of the solar system at 0.92c is what it takes to save the world, that's what Eva Stratt will do. But only after sealing herself in there with him. They're both going to die—she's made her peace with that. Still, she didn't expect it to hurt this much to watch the man she murdered and the alien they met in Tau Ceti try to befriend her even after all she does to push them away. She doesn't deserve their affection, but how does she even begin to explain why that is? So she doesn't, but still—it's tearing her apart.
