The kid wasn’t in bed. Soda was in the only bathroom in the house. The kid went to bed early last night. The window in the bedroom was open.
Oh crap.
“Uh,” Dallas responded elegantly, before swallowing. “Kid’s not in the room.”
“What?”
Darry’s expression turned stony, then turned deadly, and then Darrel was running over to the kid’s room and he about busted the door down. When he saw the open window and the made bed (as if that would make sneaking out any better, Ponyboy!) he about lost his mind.
He sprinted back into the living room, angry and panicked.
“Ponyboy’s gone!”
Or; When Ponyboy ventures into the east side to watch a movie, a group of socs decide to have a little fun. Dallas finds him, tears ensue.
