They stare at each other.
Lilly's heart thumps — the lifeguard's lips twitch.
Pretty much all of her thoughts go blank, stunted, like there shouldn't be anything else to think about in this moment. Because there's a pretty girl in front of her — and the pretty girl begins to smile at her — and God knows that's bound to kill a lesbian on sight.
In which Lilly, amidst a depressive episode, is forced by her two closest friends to tag along to a summer resort. And it's here where one of said friends almost drowns, introducing her to a certain rosy-cheeked, pale-faced lifeguard who's determined to fill her life with colour.
