Summary
Pik made a wish upon the stars to become a version of himself that was not afraid of losing Jai. The universe answered — but not in the way he expected.
A version of him from a parallel world, Qin, who took no one's bullshit, was now living inside his head.
Jai: “Pookpik, my exes are chasing me again. Help me hide!”
Ex: “Hey, have you seen that bastard Jai? Don’t make excuses just because he’s your best friend.”
Pik was used to this situation. He had his answers rehearsed: “I haven’t seen him,” or “He ran over to that building.”
But instead of giving one of his usual excuses, the words that slipped out of Pik’s mouth were:
“Oh, that bastard is here.”
