Work Text:
Aj is used to things being difficult.
She’s used to things not going her way, always having the hard way find her before she can make a choice. Rarely was there a time in her life where something came easy or, god forbid, nice.
Don’t get her wrong, she was used to the usual good samaritan, someone kind to those around her and on the rare occasion even kind to her. But it was rare that someone made her nice, if you could even call it that.
There had never been a time in her life where kindness was something she could do, she could give, she could feel.
There was never a time where someone made her kind.
Now, all of a sudden she finds it something she yearns to be. Not to everyone, you would be insane to believe she could change for everyone.
Aj could be kind, could be nice for Drift.
She had said a lot under the moonlight, up on that mountain. More truth had spilled from her lips than a lifetime could pull from her. She had offered herself, shown the layers, even the ugly parts, and gifted it like a rotted bouquet of roses.
Aj knew she had fucked up, that much was obvious, but she would do anything to get back into her favor.
Even being Kind.
