    There is a part of him that knows to his core that Shane has always had a good time with Ilya sexually. That the only thing he would get from Shane is reassurance on this topic. It’s so obvious that asking for reassurance would itself be insane. Like asking someone to confirm for you that the sky is blue. Why should he need this confirmed?

    Yes, maybe it would be nice to hear Shane say Ilya was not immoral. That Ilya was good and skilled and what Shane wanted. But it would make no difference. If Shane said it, Ilya would not believe it, so what was the point?
