   Summary

   Soundwave held higher power. Every mech aboard the Nemesis knew it. Frag, even Starscream knew it, never commented on it though.

    

   It wasn’t that Megatron’s Third In Command isn’t worthy of the title Second. It was that Soundwave didn’t want to be SiC. Strange, yes. But it didn’t undermine his authority, Megatron respected him. Soundwave had known Megatron longer than anyone, almost as long as Optimus.

    

   Soundwave’s refusal of the title SiC had been polite, dismissive, through recordings played of various other mechs. The reason was preference. Soundwave didn’t want that title. The extra attention. Soundwave never liked attention. Megatron knew that well. How it reminded Soundwave of his days as a gladiator in the Pits of Kaon.

    

   Being a gladiator was not a pleasurable experience. Especially if you lacked the strength and resources. Fortunately, Megatron had the benefits of it. Was the reigning champion. Well, until the first and only stalemate.

    

   Soundwave is everything perfect in a mech. Jealously tends to override his sense. Aching for praise from someone specific.
