Summary
In the summer of 1969, Vincent Benedetti set out for Woodstock chasing dreams of freedom, adoration, and a way out of the draft. Instead, he was abducted, Embraced into Clan Toreador, and dragged into the gilded brutality of House De Angelou.
Over the following thirty years, the once starry-eyed young man was reshaped into a fighter, performer, possession, and plaything. Survival came to depend entirely on his willingness to please his sire and perform whatever role was demanded of him.
Then, as if his prayers had finally been answered, Vincent was sent alone to a new city. But freedom proved every bit as confusing and unforgiving as the captivity he'd come to know. If Vincent ever hoped to find a life and name of his own, simply getting off the leash would not be enough. He would have to learn to carry the weight of his own sins and face the consequences of his impulses.
