Work Text:

Orion huffed as he walked into the small but comfortable apartment he shared with his boyfriend. He was pissed as hell! It was supposed to be a fun Friday night together at the local bar they liked to visit, but then they ran into that arrogant asshole Lyro from work.

Ever since he got that promotion a few months ago, he became arrogant and didn’t know how to keep his damn mouth shut, in Orion’s words.

Normally, they’d both just ignore him, but today? Today the man had taken it entirely too far. “Who the hell does that dumbass think he is?! Instigating stuff, insulting me, talking shit about you! That was the last fucking straw!” Orion shouted, taking off his jacket and tossing it onto the cheap coat holder near the front of their apartment door.

D-16 sighed, closing the door behind them and crossing his arms. “Babe…” He trailed off, fixing him with a pointed look. Orion huffed, stomping into their bedroom and not giving a single damn about if the downstairs neighbors heard.

Good! They should know how much their shitty coworker sucked, too! Those stomps were because of him!

“I mean, seriously! If you hadn’t pulled me off of him in time, I would have fucked him up!” Orion exclaimed, swiftly tugging off his shirt and opening his dresser to get a clean one.

“He’s lucky I didn’t punch his fucking head off his shoulders!” Orion stated. D-16 walked into their kitchen, grabbing a glass to fill with ice cubes from the ice tray in the freezer.

“‘Would have’? You threw your drink in his face, tackled him onto the floor, and proceeded to punch him over and over again. He lost three teeth, Orion! There was blood everywhere!” D-16 exclaimed incredulously, taking the glass into the bedroom to give to the extremely furious man tugging his comfortable pajama pants up around his waist.

“Well yeah, but I still didn’t punch his head off his shoulders…” Orion mumbled grumpily, turning to see D offering him the cold glass. “Drink it. I really don’t want to hear any backtalk tonight, Orion. Not after what just happened.” D said with a glare as Orion begrudgingly took the cup.

“I don’t see why you are so mad. If anything, you should be proud of me for sticking up for us. Lyro is always sticking his damn nose where it doesn’t need to be and antagonizing us for no reason!” Orion exclaimed, taking a gulp of water.

D shook his head. “That’s no excuse to start a physical fight with the idiot. What if the guy was actually a really good fighter? What if he had a weapon on him or decided to grab whatever nearest glass thing he could find and bash it over your head?! You cannot just get into bar brawls the second somebody says something you don’t like!” D-16 scolded.

Orion moaned and set the half empty glass on his dresser. “Here we go again with your ‘moral compass’. Don’t you ever just want to slap the arrogant smirks off of people’s faces who look down on you?” Orion asked.

Being miners meant receiving public scrutiny from people who thought they were better than them. Both Orion and D-16, along with the countless other mine workers they went to work with every day, were used to it.

However, what really made Orion upset this time was the fact that the vitriol was being spewed from the lips of a man who they had just been working side by side with a couple months prior. That rubbed Orion entirely the wrong way, leading to them often getting into passive aggressive verbal arguments whenever they saw each other. D-16 tried to just deescalate things and convince Orion to ignore the man, but something about Lyro just got under his skin.

Unfortunately, all of that came to a head today when Lyro decided to come up to their spot at the bar and start being an ass. Orion had gone back and forth with the man for a little while, before Lyro said something very personal and hurtful about them.

Whatever, I don’t have to stand here and listen to your pointless bullshit. Neither of you are entertaining enough, nor smart enough to get anything of substance out of this conversation.” Lyro said, his eyes sizing D-16 up and down before he let out a snort.

“Well, it’s a good thing you’re handsome. It’s clear that you didn’t get the job because of your skills. No wonder you two are so perfect for each other, you’re ‘bimbo and the bastard!’ Hahaha!” Lyro laughed, his amused eyes darting back over to Orion’s rage filled ones as he insulted them.

“…What the hell did you just call my boyfriend?” Orion asked through gritted teeth. Oh, he was pissed as hell, now. Nobody called his boyfriend a bimbo and got away with it. D-16 was the smartest, most intelligent guy he knew.

“I called him a bimbo, I called you a bastard, and I call myself better than you.” Lyro said arrogantly with a smirk, taking a sip of his drink. That gave Orion the best idea he could have ever come up with at the moment.

Before he knew it, Orion had grabbed his glass of alcohol and threw it directly into Lyro’s face, temporarily shocking him before Orion proceeded to jump on top of him and send them both to the ground.

Although Orion had an edge physically, and he did clearly win the fight, D-16 was not happy with him. Oh, no. Quite the opposite, actually. His boyfriend’s behavior needed to be addressed immediately.

“Of course I get the urge to retaliate against disrespectful attitudes, Orion. I’m human, after all.” D-16 said truthfully. “That doesn’t mean I can just get into fights with anybody who decides to disrespect me or be rude. You need to learn how to control your emotions and just let things go in one ear and out the other.” He said.

Orion tilted his head back and groaned theatrically. “D, are you seriously lecturing me right now? At this time of night?” He asked with a sarcastic smile, scoffing and shaking his head.

D-16 checked his smartphone’s clock, lifting an eyebrow at his boyfriend’s complaining. “It’s 9. We might’ve been there longer had you not gotten into a random bar brawl.” He said.

Orion looked up at D with an exasperated look. “He was talking so much shit about us, D! Why the fuck should he just get away with treating us like garbage because he got a stupid promotion?! One that we deserved, at that! Fuck him and his promotion! I hope he loses it!” Orion exclaimed, getting heated just thinking about the loser again.

D-16’s eyes softened, taking a step closer and placing a comforting hand on Orion’s shoulder. “Look at me, Orion.” He said, his voice gentle and understanding. Orion looked up at him again, his eyes filled with hurt rather than just anger.

“You don’t need to compare your success to anybody else's, do you hear me?” D-16 said, cupping Orion’s cheek as the man leaned into his hold.

“You are doing amazing at work, I know your time for a promotion will come. Both of our’s will. Don’t ever let anybody break your spirit.” He said, giving the love of his life an empathetic smile.

Orion knew D was right; even though he didn’t want to admit it right now. D-16 always knew how to calm him down when his head got clouded with negativity. He didn’t know what he’d do without the man in his life.

Orion wrapped his arms around D-16’s neck, gently playing with his long black locks and looking into his amber eyes. “Why do you always know exactly what to say?” He asked.

D-16 chuckled, winking at the blue haired man. “It’s in my coding.” He teased, as if he were a robot. Ha, imagine that!

Both of them laughed, the atmosphere feeling a lot less heavy. “Well, I’m glad that’s taken care of, then. How about some leftover cheeseburgers and a movie until we pass out together on the couch?” Orion asked with a grin.

D-16 smirked, nodding. “I’d love that.” He said, wrapping an arm around Orion’s waist as the shorter guy turned to walk away, firmly keeping him in place. “However, we still have matters to attend to.” He said, giving Orion a knowing look.

Orion sighed, practically pouting. “Baaabe!~ Come on! It’s late!” He exclaimed. “That’s never stopped you from doing anything before. You’re more of a night owl anyway.” D said, taking Orion by the hand and leading him into their shared bedroom.

“This part is always so embarrassing, though! What will the guys at work think when they see me squirming all uncomfortably and shit?” Orion asked as Orion closed the door behind them, as if it made a difference. ‘We’re the only ones here, goofball.’ He thought in response.

“Probably ‘wow, he and D must’ve had a really fun night’ realistically speaking.” D-16 said with a shrug, taking a seat on the bed and patting his lap.

“C’mere, let’s get this over with so I can hold you in my arms for the rest of the night. I’d like to get to that part as soon as possible, y’know?” D said with a smile, naturally charming as ever.

Orion sighed, walking over and taking a seat in D-16's lap, making himself at home. It was his spot and his alone, after all. “I wish I could say I’m sorry, but I’m really not.” Orion said, resting his head on D’s shoulder. D-16 sighed, playing with Orion’s messy hair.

“I know, baby.” D-16 said, placing a soft kiss on top of his stubborn partner’s forehead. “I’m going to make sure you are by the end. That’s why I’m here.” He said, resting his forehead against Orion’s and just holding him for a moment as they looked into each other’s eyes, communicating without saying any words at all.

Orion had an issue with taking accountability, and he often felt guilty or tended to beat himself up whenever he made big mistakes. D-16 had suggested possible solutions, such as taking time to clear his head and just go with the flow. However, the thing that stuck was a method that Orion himself had suggested.

Orion remembered the shock on D’s face when he told him about ‘domestic discipline’ and sent him links to information about it online. At first, D had flat out refused. He had been spanked himself a few times growing up, and from what he remembered, it was a very emotional and painful experience. The last thing he wanted to do was overwhelm his sweet Orion.

Orion begged D-16 to at least give it a try. If it got to be too much for the man, he’d agree to never try it again and that would be that.

Surprisingly though, the first time D-16 took Orion over his lap (a pretty large lap and intimidating, mind you) had gone quite well. Orion had felt the release he craved so desperately, and it had been worth it. Since then, things went smoothly. The more D-16 spanked Orion, the more experienced he became.

He knew all of the little tricks now; the sit spot and undercurve area, lifting his knee to get access to said area, the lecture and discipline ratio, the decision to either land swats in a pattern or randomly, verbal reassurance throughout the entire punishment to make sure his boyfriend knew he was loved and safe over his lap. All of this was a lifestyle they both chose, which made it feel so special.

Orion and D-16 were both similar, yet polar opposites at the exact same time. Appearance wise, it was clear that they had their own unique traits. D-16 had brown skin, gentle amber eyes, was 6’2, and had long black locks that he often tied up into a ponytail. Orion had fair skin, baby blue eyes, was 5’10, and had short blue hair.

Although he was fun and sweet, Orion had a fiery side and was far too impulsive for his own good. He tended to leap before he looked, which got him into trouble often.

D-16 thought things through many times before he made decisions, but he could use the carefree energy Orion brought to his life. D was very methodical and greatly respected authority, while Orion tended to just do whatever he wanted more often than not.

They both balanced each other out perfectly; D-16 with providing that structure, while Orion provided the fun. This was necessary for their dynamic to work, which was why their relationship was going so well.

Although Orion agreed to this spanker and spankee dynamic, he still had to put up at least a little bit of a fight, of course. Even when he didn’t want a spanking, he trusted his partner to take care of it if he deemed it necessary. He trusted D-16 with his life, and by extension, his ass as well. The man hadn’t ever given him a reason not to trust him, so he always would.

“Do I at least get to keep my pants up?” Orion asked with a soft blush. D-16 smirked softly. “Do you think you deserve to keep them up?” He asked.

Orion groaned once again, hiding his face in D-16’s neck shyly. “Dude, you can't just ask me that and expect me to answer!” He exclaimed, his words muffled.

D-16 chuckled, giving Orion a squeeze as he hugged him. “I’ll take that as my answer.” He said, nodding fondly as he rubbed Orion’s back. “C’mon, you know the drill. Pants and boxers down, then lay over my lap.” D-16 said.

Orion sighed dramatically, frowning as he slowly got to his feet in an attempt to stall as much as he could. His hands clumsily, but routinely undid his jeans. After tugging them, along with his robot printed boxers down to his knees, he bent over the man’s lap.

D-16 placed his hand on Orion’s back, keeping him in place and also offering him some comfort. “I don’t want to have to spank you for this same thing twice, so I want you to really think about why you are over my knee right now.” D-16 said before lifting his big palm and landing it with a sharp swat across Orion’s bottom.

Orion grimaced, looking down at the floor. He didn’t expect his Friday night to feature him bare ass up over his partner’s lap, but all things considered, he’s had worse Friday nights.

As the spanking proceeded, D-16’s swats landed in a pattern. Right, left, center, repeat. Orion had a feeling his ass was going to be as red as the blood that dripped from Lyro’s nose earlier that night after he punched him…

“What Lyro said and did wasn’t acceptable at all, and you have every right to be upset. However, that doesn’t make it okay to get into a physical fight with the guy. Especially since he is a higher rank now.” D reminded, the loud smacks ringing throughout the room.

“The last thing we need is him running his mouth to the other higher rank employees and ruining your reputation. You work hard, Orion. Don’t let people’s stupid offensive opinions put you in a position to be penalized. You know better than to let your anger get the best of you.” D-16 scolded as he spanked.

SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP!

Orion grunted, holding onto D-16’s leg for support. “Shit…Ouch! Well, he shouldn’t have been talking sh-OWW!” Orion’s remark was cut short by a sharp smack to his undercurve.

“That’s still no excuse to put your hands on him, Orion. What did we talk about when it comes to people potentially trying to provoke or upset you, hm?” D’s patient tone contrasted with his extremely painful swats.

“Ouch! AH! OUCH! OWW, FUCK! T-to just ignore them and-OWW-don’t listen to them!” Orion exclaimed helplessly.

D-16 nodded, even though he knew Orion couldn’t see him. “That’s right.” He praised, thoroughly spanking Orion’s once pale behind and making it bright pink.

“We need to work on your self control and finding better outlets for your frustration.” D-16 said. “You know we don’t get as many chances to fuck up as the higher ups.” He said, landing a flurry of smacks to Orion’s ass.

Orion, as expected, yelped and squirmed over D’s knee. “OUCH! AH! OWW OWW! Okay, okay!  You’re right!” Orion wailed, kicking his legs back. Tears began to fill his eyes, the pain of the spanking really beginning to sting now.

“Settle down, honey. You are doing well.” D-16 said, gently rubbing Orion’s back and holding him still. “I can see that we are making progress.” D said, taking note of the quickly reddening bottom across his lap. “I’m sorry! I-I swear I’ll never get in a fight again!” Orion exclaimed, tears rolling down his cheeks.

D-16 smiled, though he never ceased his hand. “I don’t believe that’s true, given your track record. I do appreciate the sentiment, though.” He said. As the spanking continued, Orion got more and more vocal.

Soon after some time had passed, Orion’s behind had turned a lovely shade of crimson. If the sting in his own palm was anything to go by, D could tell that Orion was going to be quite sore whenever he tried to sit for the next day or so.

Thank God they didn’t have work tomorrow so they could sleep in tonight. He was going to have some serious cuddling and snuggling in bed to do to make up for tanning Orion’s ass.

“I don’t want to have to have this conversation again any time soon, Orion. I will do it if I have to, though.” D-16 said, lifting his knee and attacking Orion’s sit spots and upper thighs with rapid, stinging smacks to match the same shade of red as his bum.

Orion wailed, loud sobs leaving his throat as he bawled brokenly. “I-I’m sob s-so sorry, D! I s-swear I won’t hiccup e-ever get in a fight with a p-pompous, a-arrogant jackass like that again! At least sniffle n- not in sob p-publicccc!~” The man wept.

Hearing this, D knew that it was time to wrap things up. After landing the last few final smacks to the rosy cheeks, D-16 had finished.

Orion was immediately scooped up into D-16’s strong arms as he was showered with comfort and affection. “Shhh, it’s okay, baby. You took that so well. I’m so proud of you. It’s alright. Shh shh shh…it’s alright, Pax. Match my breathing.” D-16 whispered, soothingly stroking Orion’s hair and rubbing his back as Orion sobbed against his shoulder.

Taking in deep, assisted breaths, his breathing had eventually evened out. His heartbeat matched D’s, both of them just sitting in silence as Orion greedily accepted all of his lover’s sweet, gentleness.

This was Orion’s favorite part about all of the spankings he had received. He loved just being held and told that he was forgiven. It always felt like a giant weight had been lifted off of his shoulders afterwards.

If Orion genuinely didn’t want a spanking, he knew that D-16 would opt for something else for discipline. They had safe words and boundaries for a reason. However, alternative disciplinary methods didn’t give him the same feeling he had now. He liked the aftercare.

“I’m sniff sorry for the trouble I caused, D. I swear I’ll be better.” Orion apologized, looking up at the other man with his big wet eyes. D-16’s heart melted, leaning down and gently lifting his chin so he could place a soft kiss to Orion’s lips. Orion leaned into the kiss, wrapping his arms around his neck and fully accepting it.

“It’s alright, sweetheart. You’re forgiven.” D said, letting his hand slide down to rub the sensitive, heated skin of Orion’s freshly spanked backside.

“Also, thank you for standing up for me. Even though I wish you hadn't gotten into a physical fight with him at a bar, I appreciate the sentiment and the reasoning behind it.” D smiled, earning a proud grin from Orion.

They stayed like that in comfortable silence for some time, just enjoying each other’s loving company. Soon, Orion had shimmied his boxers up back over his sensitive butt with a wince, obviously leaving his jeans off. There was no way in hell he’d be wearing anything but boxers, pajama pants and sweatpants for the whole weekend.

“I love you, D-16.” Orion said with a sincere smile and a soft blush. D-16 blushed as well, grinning. “I love you, too.” He said, both of them sharing another kiss, this one a bit more passionate than the last.

Once they both finally pulled away, Orion took D’s hand in his and began leading them out of the bedroom. “Let’s go head up those cheeseburgers, I’m starving since I didn’t ever get those nachos at the bar.” Orion said.

D-16 shook his head in amusement. “Well, we couldn’t let you go hungry, could we?” He teased, wrapping an arm around him as they walked out into the hallway. A hungry Orion was almost as bad as a bored Orion. Almost.

So, the rest of their night had gone smoothly. They ate their cheeseburgers, watched some movies, and cuddled together on the living room couch.

They eventually fell asleep in each other’s arms, both of them happy to call each other their partner. Regardless of what they went through together, they knew that they’d always be there for each other.
